SOURCE: How do you remove the brushes on a Hitachi C10FSH compound miter saw?

On the sides of the motor housing there are two small, black screw caps about as big around as a dime. By removing those the brushes will come out. Most come out easily but if they are in very tight, be carefull not to strip out the screw driver slots. The caps are made of a hard plastic that breaks easily and if the slots are stripped out they are very difficult to remove.

Trying to remove brushes on my Hitachi C10FSH MITER SAW. Removed caps on sides of motor housing with no problems. The brushes will not come out, scared to pull on springs to hard. Suggestions please!

You might have let the brushes go to long and they are worn so far that they came out of the holders. Maybe try turning the blade backwards while pulling on the brushes.

Can not get brush,s out ,soaked with rust remover and tried the pick ,how do you remove armature ?

The carbon brush buying Hitachi are often made of bakelite (thermoset plastic) that are able to rupture completely exactly by half.

If that is happens try both halves exactly to get on each other that is to say to press toward each other with a drop of super glue solely in the middle then tightly around a piece of double-sided adhesive tape, after some time in order to turn the appropriate screw driver that he has some support to the adhesive tape if thats not the problem and you mean the carbon brushes if they are stuck in the brush holders do nothing not pull on the brass litz wire it is not tight first remove the motor housing.and pust the brushes from the middle out slowly back careful against the direction of the spring of the brush so if becomes loose remove them and clean it with solvent that its dry or buy new ones

Won't start after install of new trigger

Hi There

1; Is the power going to the switch first of all?

2; Do you get a reading of voltage coming out of the switch?

3; If 1 & 2 are ok check the inside of the housing and make sure the spring connections on the brush holders are ok and that the brushes slide through the brush holders smoothly.

4; Check continuity of both sides of the field.

5; Check power goes to the brush holders.

If you do not get any reading from the above that's where the problem lies.

Braking on miter saw not working

Try fitting a new set of brushes first otherwise it could be that it needs a new field coil.

with the tool unplugged check that the two carbon brushes are free in the holders . remove the two caps locking them in and take them out , blow out and replace . be careful make sure when putting them back in that the caps do up nice an free. possibly dust stopping brushes from making contact to armature .

What parts do I replace in order to repair electric brake on a Hitachi C10FSH

On miter saws, the switch controls the brake, so you might start by replacing the switch. Have you checked your brushes? If they don't have good contact on the armature, I believe this might cause the problem also. However, I would try the switch first.

The laser light doesn't work on the hitachi c10fsh

Take the unit off your saw. There should be a removable back side that will allow you to replace the coin battery inside the unit.

Good Luck!
