I tried both numbers that you sent and neither worked.

Was I supposed to put the numbers you sent me into the address bar just as I would a link?

Hi there,

If you cannot connect to your wireless network because you have forgotten the WEP key or WPA, you can solve it by changing your access point or router WiFi.
Change the WEP key

The first solution requires that you get to connect to the WiFi router.
To do so, open the browser and connect to http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1!

Under the menu, go to the security tab and change the key to secure your wifi.
Reset WiFi router

If you also have forgotten the password to your WiFi router, the first solution is to try ID and default password as specified in the router's documentation.

If it does not work, reset your access point or your WiFi router with the help of default settings. To do this, see your hardware documentation. On almost all routers, there is a small hole for resetting the router.

Good Luck!!
Thanks

if you have a wireless signal in the house then you have a router of some kind. The router takes the signal from the modem and transmits wirelessly.
You can try to log into your router and get the Wep that way. Go to the computer that is hardwired to your router. (Usually your desktop)

    in XP
Go to start> run> type in "CMD" and press enter.

    In Vista
Go to start> in the start search box type> "CMD" > press "ctrl shift enter"

In either Operating system the steps are the same from here:

in the black box you now have, type "ipconfig" press enter

write down the "Default gateway" ip address you see. It's prob going to be something like 192.168.1.1

Since this is an address, where would you put it? In the address bar of your browser. Open Internet explorer (or firefox, or chrome or what ever you use). Type your ip address numbers press enter.

At this point it should ask for a user name and password. You might have something special that was created when the network was set up. Good luck remembering those.

Otherwise, do a google search for "(router brand name) default login" and see what your router's default settings are. Usually its something like "admin\password" or something like that.

Once you get into your router setup page click on "wireless" (or something like it) then "wireless security" (or something like it).

Here you will be looking for something like security type. choose (or see if the choice is there already) for WEP. Then type a passphrase and click on generate. Write down number 1 (should be 10 digits long) and there you go. That is your encryption key. Put that in your Wii

It has probably been a while since you set up the security options on your Linksys router, and chances are, you've forgotten or lost the WEP key.
Luckily, you can easily recover this security code when you need it.
A base computer and a printer are required for this task.

Open a Web browser on your base computer.
Navigate to the Linksys setup menu by typing "http://192.168.1.1" into the browser's address bar and pressing "Enter."
This is the router's LAN address.

Locate the "Security" tab near the top of the window.
Clicking on this tab unlocks your WEP code, so to speak the code is now displayed on the screen.

Print this screen by clicking "File" and then "Print" on your browser's toolbar.
Verify that the entire page printed correctly and that no digits are missing from the end of the WEP key.
If any numbers are missing, fill them in.

Type in your WEP key when prompted by the wireless setup screens on other computers in your network.
This will allow the computers to access your local network and the Internet.

Return to the base computer and close out of the Linksys setup screen by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner of the application window.

Lock my router

You can reset you router to it's factory default settings:

Have you somehow lost your D-Link router's password? Perhaps the easiest way to gain access to your router's admin interface is by restoring it to the default factory settings, however, if that is not possible, try method number two via the master password. If you lost your WEP password, visit this post for more info - Recover Lost WEP Wireless Network Password Key.

How do I find my wep key number

You can find your Belkin WEP key on its bottom or back side, Normally all other routers are coming without password, but belkin asks its physical address has its WEP password,
you can change it's password and SSID by login in through internet explorer, both the username and password of router can find on it's backside, then follow some easy steps to change SSID (wireless name) and wireless password (WEP) min 8 charectors,
please don't try to change your username and password provided by your Network provider if are not a professional, (connection may lost)
Thank you rate if you succeeded

How do i find my wep key number on my computer thanks

The easiest way is to login to your router and check under the Wireless security tab. If you are unable to connect to your router as you lost your WEP then the best way would be to reset your router and create a new one.

Using the HP C7280, lost power and now its asking me to input a WEP #. Where do i get this number?

Check with your network administrator or the person who installed the Photosmart C7280 on your network.

A WEP key (in short) is a security code allowing a group of devices to communicate with each other while maintaining privacy from a device outside of the network. Usually a WEP is a string of digits and the letters A-F the length of which is determined by the level of encryption.

How do I find out what my wep number is. lost the manual

You can locate the Wireless Network Security key (WEP key) by login to the Access Point or Router.

Or using any third party utilities which will scan the saved WEP key from the Computer.

Good Luck!!!!!!!

Lost my key number

Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable. In that way, you will see the WEP key assigned in your Router's GUI/page. You will see it in the Wireless section of the Router. Once you get the WEP key, enter it to the new PC to gain access to the Wireless connection.

I lost the instillation CD and need the wep code

The WEP code is whatever you make it when you set up the wireless connection. If you have lost this key. It is best to use the manual reset located on your wireless router. Will require a small point like a paperclip. Then you will have to access the router and set up the wireless internet over again. Then you can secure it with a new WEP key.
If you need further assistance please ask me.
