SOURCE: BIOS memory remapping on HP

BIOS cannot me remapped or altered manually in laptops because, its locked by the vendor. Try giving the laptopn to the HP service centre and get it fixed. Or search for BIOS update in HP website and follow their instruction of updating the BIOS, which fixes all problems in BIOS. Thank You

How can I remap memory in bios to take advantage of full 4Go RAM ?

Use of memory is determined by your operating system 32bit operating systems XP, Vista 32, Win7 32 have a max of 3.5GB
to use more memory you need to upgrade operating system. If it works OK now I don't recommend upgrading. Driver incompatibility is a big issue

Hp xw9300 workstation bios shows 4gb of installed ram but the system properties when the pc is booted up only show 2gb of ram. Whats the fix for this?

If you running a 32 bit version Operating system it does happen. since there's a limit for 32 bit operation though the mother board can handle 4gb.
other common cases: 1 of the sticks are bad. try to reseat the memory sticks to isolate which ram is not detected.thanks

Have an HP xw9300 with 8GB of physical RAM but Windows XP-32-bit is only seeing 2GB and the system Bios is seeing 8GB. XP-64-bit sees all 8GB of RAM Expected 32-bit XP to see 4GB of RAM Why is the OS...

Problem: More than 2GB of RAM is installed, yet the 32-bit OS only sees 2GB.

Cause: Memory remapping is
enabled.

Solution: Enter Computer Setup (F10) and disable memory
remapping: Advanced > Chipset/Memory.

Hi my name is sean and i have this exact board and i have 4 gigs installed ram and the bios is only detecting 3 gigs. I dont have a memory remapping featuer in the bios but the board does support 4 gigs...

Have a look at the BIOS settings, the built-in video card may be grabbing 1Gb for video RAM. The video card uses shared RAM (part of the main RAM module/s). You can change the video RAM allocation in the BIOS.

Only 3326MB RAM intead of 4GB in Vista 64-bit

Download Everest ( http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en&page=11 ) and check it there. Some memory modules is not what it says. E.g my last memory module, was a 1Gb, but was only registered as 894 Mb.

DSC W1 dead pixel

If it has the remapping option, it doesn't say so in the manual. from what I understand, every camera comes already with "dead pixels" and its already remapped so that you won't easily notice it. with time, more pixels drop off and you need to remap it again. Now the thing is, the remapping just makes the dead pixel an average of its surounding pixels, and there are photo editing programs that do the same thing, have the remapping option. so basicaly what i'm saying is that if you're out of warranty dont be in a rush to get it fixed. cheers
