Why doesn't my new corrector ribbon/ink ribbon work? The wheel advances-nothing shows on paper.

Put in a multi-part form, type if the carbon is OK the problem is with the ribbon. Look at the ribbon if there is an impression on the ribbon but no ink transfer the ribbon is very ols, if there is no impression then the ribbon isn't lifting. THere ix a 2" black gear on the right side of the printer it should move easily if not wiggle it back and forth they get tooth for tooth with the drive gear.

All wheel drive dont work

there is an actuator in the front axle that engages the drive shaft to the wheels. there is also a vacuum actuator i believe in that model it is under the battery plate. if you put on lift you can trace the cable from the front axle back to the actuator and check the cable, actuator and vacuum lines. Gm's system is complex and when is messes up its a night mare. but common failures are actuator cracked or broken vacuum line.

I have a w class data max printer and it prints the labels but very light ink on it i was told that the green wheel on the side controls that but i have tried every single level on it but still light...

Lift the print head (where the label comes out and the ribbon should be right under it)

Take a clean Q-tip and some IPA, and wipe the little black line of dots you will see inder the head. These are the thermal points on the print head and they do build up debris which moves the head away from the ribbon causing lite print.

The stering on my Volvo wont turn right when startig up willgo left and go OK after a few seconds oillevel is up but murky. Uwe

See if you can get someone to help you, because someone needs to start the car and someone needs to look under the car, don't lift the car up while looking under there. You need to see if the steering wheel is turning under the car. It may be turning right, but it may be something blocking it from turning left. A tie rod could be broken.

I'm trying open my Toshiba Satellite L500D; I am having a problem I have removed all the aparent screws but I can't seem to lift the keyboard from the laptop. Ids there something else attaching it that I...

Check the "top" edge of the keyboard -- that part closest to the hinges & the LCD screen.

There may be a few "tabs" going "under" something.

Gently push the keyboard towards you, so that those tabs can be adjusted to move "over" that something.

Then, gently lift the keyboard -- there probably is a small and delicate ribbon-cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard.
AVOID breaking/damaging that ribbon-cable.

Hello,

Hi

Many brother type writers have two cam assemblies under ribbon holder. One operates the print hammer and the other operates the correction ribbon lift. sometimes they gets stuck or lock themselves up. turning on and off a few times will take care of it, but sometimes it needs to be worked on by a tech. If you look when you type a character, most likely the print hammer is not firing or it is striking the correction ribbon instead of the black ribbon.

Let us know if you want to know something more else please accept the suggestion.

How to change a daisy wheel and line it up

remove the ribbon to see better. Their is a latch right by the print wheel. Just pull gently toward you and the printwheel holder will pop open. Then lift the wheel out and install the new wheel, Then push the latch back towards the platen or big black roller. It should line up by itself when you turn the power back on.

Daisy wheel will not stay on wordsmith 100

CHANGING Changing The Ribbon Cassette 1) Move the print carrier to the center of the platen using the SPACE or BS key. 2) Hold the ribbon cassette on both sides and lift up the front portion (where the ribbon is exposed) to remove the cassette. 3) To insert a new cassette, place the back end of the cassette on the cassette holder on the carrier and gently press down on the front of the cassette unit it clicks into place. 4) Turn the ribbon feed knob counter-clockwise again to take up any slack in the ribbon. 5) Presss the CODE + = (SETTING) key.

Changing The Print Wheel 1) Move the print carrier to the center of the platen using the SPACE or BS key. 2) You will see a lever on the right side of the carrier. Pull this lever toward you and lift out the daisy wheel. 3) Place the daisy wheel into the slot with the characters facing the platen. 4) Push the lever back into position. 5) Press the CODE + = (SETTING) key.
It appears as though you have something that is preventing the print wheel from being locked in place by the release lever. It should make a snapping or similar noise when it is locked down.

Cutting off bottom of letters

Look at the ribbon and see if the letters are in the center of the ribbon. If not you have a ribbon lift problem. If they are check to be sure the platen is fully seated in the side frames.
