use the selector switch on the top, switch it to wake 1 or wake 2. set the time that you want that alarm to go off. then push the switch all the way back to the left to deactivate it. then to activate the alarm, use the buttons on top labeled wake 1 or wake 2 to turn the desired alarm on. pushing that button repeatedly will cycle the alarm to either beep, radio, or it will turn that alarm off.

The link will take you to the Emerson customer support web page that has pdf copies of the owners manuals for all the Smart Set Clock/Radio's. You will need to have a pdf reader and writer to read and make a copy of the owners manual. Find the make and model number of Your Clock/Radio and open the manual. You will find all the instructions for setting the alarm. If you are still having problems with setting the alarm. Call Emerson Customer Support at this telephone number 1-800-909-1240 between the hours of 8am-4:30pm CT. Tell them the make and model number of you Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. Hold CLOCK SET button down, press HOURS and MINUTES until you get the right time, release CLOCK SET button. This radio alarm unhelpful calls the ON/OFF button "STANDBY"! To turn it on, press the STANDBY button so the standby light is on!
