The waste line from the dishwasher should connected straight to the garbage disposal. there is a hole in the side where it fits. Be sure to knock out the plug in the disposal, or the water will back up and stay in the dishwasher.

Solve will not drain problem

Disconnect the drain hose from your garbage disposal and see if it will drain into a bucket. If it does, how is the flow? Is it just a trickle or a good flow? If it's a good flow, then you have an obstruction in your garbage disposal. If it's a new garbage disposal, did you (or your installer) remember to knock out the plug that's at the end of that drain port???

Dishwasher not draining completely after new garbage disposal installed

If you hooked up the drain to the disposal directly there is no vent in the line. Use the air vent on the sink to connect the dishwasher drain hose. If there is no air vent, then you'll have to install one in the sink.

Water flows out of garbage disposal vent when ever we use the dishwasher

Most likely the whole thing needs to be taken apart and cleaned, not just the disposal, but the plumbing as well.
I have often had to do this for others.
Very often the problem has been people put things in the disposal that plug up the plumbing, like eggshells, bananana peels, and other fruits & vegetables that readily plug the system.
I have had to take such apart too many times to count.
Oh, yes.
If your dishwasher empties into the disposal ( that is normal) you may find your 2 choices are to repair or replace the disposal, or remove the disposal all together and hook the dishwasher drain directly to the plumbing.
God bless your efforts.

Water will not drain. I did have a new garbage disposer installed a couple of days ago, but don't know enough about dishwashers to even see where it connects to the disposer.

Hi Ruthp53, I am JK. I see that you have installed a new garbage disposal and now are having problems with your dishwasher (model FGHD2433KF) draining. I would recommend checking for blockage at garbage disposal and the drain. Also, new garbage disposables normally have a plug that will need to be taken out.
Hope this helps!

When my Bosch dishwasher drains water, it is overflowing through the little air vent which sits next to the faucets. Does that mean that the garbage disposal is clogged or that something is wrong with my...

Possibly, the "TEE" where the dishwasher is connected has some debris in it. The blade of the disposal could be in the way too. There are many different things that could be causing the problem. I always just eliminate the air vent line. It isn't really needed, if you are putting the drain line from the dishwasher into the sink drain, above the trap.

I INSTALLED A VENT IN MY SINKTOP FOR THE WASHER AND WHEN IT DISCHARGES THE WATER IT COMES OUT THE VENT AND RUNS INTO THE SINK.

Installed vent? Dishwashers drain directly into the sink drain line. Drain can be installed in cross over between sink drains or on line from sink drain.

Dishwasher draining into kitchen sink!

Is the water coming out the holes of the airgap "vent". If so, you have an obstruction from the hose that goes from the "vent" to the garbage disposer and is causing the drain water to back up. __________________

The drain in to the garbage diposal is clogged.  Remove the drain hose from the dishwasher and clean the hose.  Also check the inlet to the garbage disposer and clena it.

Installation

It sounds like you have connected your dishwasher to a garbage disposal.

  1. The 2 hoses provided with your dishwasher connect together.
  2. You run the drain hose through a hole in the bottom/back of your cabinet, then up to the top of the cabinet, then connect it to the drain on the garbage disposal. (The reason that you run your drain up to the top of the cabinet is: This is called an air gap, and helps keep a little water in the drain line, which will prevent sewer gases from entering your dishwasher.)
  3. Be sure to knock the plug out of the drain of the garbage disposal. A garbage disposal is designed to work with or without a dishwasher. The plug is in the center of the drain. The best way to knock this plug out is to pull the garbage disposal, and with a flat screwdriver, knock the plug out.
  4. Then remove the plug from the disposal. Reinstall the disposal.
  5. Install the drain hose. The drain hose will connect right up to the disposal using the clamp provided with the dishwasher.
This should help you. If not please attach more info.
