Why won't wireless mic turn on the "Ready" light on receiver?

Make certain the mic and the receiver are in the same exact frequency band. There are stickers on both products that list the frequency band.

Why won't wireless mic turn on the "Ready" light on receiver?

The handheld is in a different frequency band than the receiver. There are stickers on both that saw what frequency range they can tune to.

How do I connect my audio-technica lapel mic to a device with an amplifier

I imagine their website may address that for your unnamed specific model ('lapel' isn't specific); and/or the manual that came with the amp. Most mics need preamps.

I need to purchase a lavaliere type mic for my passport 150 and I am not sure what I need, It comes with a hand held ireless mic but I want to use a lapel type.

Wireless systems can be purchased as either lapel or handheld systems. Talk to the dealer that you are purchasing the wireless from and let them know you want a handheld system.

Wireless lapel mic uses batteries at the rate of one per day. Even if the unit is off, the battery still goes dead..

As long as the battery is in the microphone, the microphone is on and transmitting. Even if your receiver is off. Remove the microphone battery when not in use. Life expectancy of an Alkaline battery is about 4 to 8 hours stage time. Only 1 to 2 hours for heavy duty batteries.

Transmit button on the lapel mic will not key the radio

Two things which come to mind, one would be if the PTT on the remote mic is bad/defective, second would be you are plugging the audio device in with the radio turned on.

If your remote mic is failing, the PTT is a repairable item, as is the cord on most models.

All four hand held systems failed during a performance

Hi kb

That is an odd encounter, and most probably one of the R.F.I. kind. Radio Frequency Inference can be caused by many things. Sometimes it can be a nearby piece of equipment creating that much interference, that the mics could not operate. It may have been a spurious mobile radio transmitter as used with two way radio for the cops, ambo's, firies,or even a nearby Cab!! Some times faulty light dimmers can also spray RF.
To what ever end, the fact that 4 mics went down together is indicative of an external problem, and being radio mics, it would have been radio interference.
The only other thing to check is that they are UHF. there are many VHF mic systems still about, but these frequencies are now being used as part of the soon to be introduced digital TV transmission. Best check that they are UHF, The VHF type have actually been illegal for a number of years Hope this info has helped you understand your problem. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Cheers

robotek
