Take it easy, there is no way to damage a dynamic microphone using a phantom power (assuming that the phantom power is correct). In other words try using another cable at another input to check the mic. In the extremely rare case that the mic has a problem there is nothing you can do, just take care and check the phantom power cause I think that the problem is at this stage.
