Go to Settings-Control-language and input-then tap on the gear next to"Samsung keyboard" scroll down until you see the header "keyboard swipe". There you'll see that Swiftkey flow is selected. Select none. You should be good to go.

SOURCE: I downloaded the swype keyboard, and I dont like

Hi Kadi,
To switch keyboards on the HTC EVO, or any other android powered phone, simply long-press (that is to touch and hold an area) on any text field, such as in the text messaging app or in the web browser. This will give you a pop-up that will have one or several options. The bottom option should always be "input method", simply select this option then choose whichever keyboard you would like to use. the default keyboad, which comes which the EVO, is referred to in this list as "Touch Input"

Julia,

Try this: go to Settings > Language & Input, then tap on the gear icon to the right of "Google Keyboard".

Tap on "Preferences", then make sure the box is checked which is right of "Voice Input Key".

After that your microphone icon should be back on the keyboard. :) Hope this helps!

I can use my keyboard on my lg optimus phone. it keeps saying "unfortunatly my lg keyboard has stopped working.

Try and download a new keyboard, there's an app for a keyboard called Swype that works much better than the original. If you can't type to go to the link, I'll link you to it so that you can download it, and install it.

Once you've installed it, simply enable it in your keyboard settings in Settings.

Change key board to swype

Assuming you already have Swype installed, you need to activate it first by going to Menu -> Settings, Language & Keyboard, then putting a check mark next to Swype (you will get a warning which you can disregard). Then go to a text field and long press the empty area (for example, long-press in the field where you would type in a SMS message), then hit Input Method. You should see a menu pop up, simply click Swype and you should be ready to go.
