Question about Maytag Neptune MAH5500B Front Load Washer

When I start the washer, it fills just fine with no problems but once it starts the cycle, it gushes water from the bottom of the door

I thought I didn't close the door at first but tried it again and it starts gushing water from the bottom of the door after the cycle begins, not during the filling time. Please tell me this can be fixed????

COULD YOU SEND MODEL NUMBER? SOUNDS LIKE A WATER LEVEL SWITCH OR A STUCK WATER VALVE. IS THERE WATER IN THE TUB WHEN NOT IN USE? IF SO THEN WATER VALVE IF NOT THEN IT IS WATER LEVEL SWITCH.

Sounds like your machine may be overfilling, or the drum gasket is in need of replacement. Or door latch is not closing completely, however just enough to register 'door locked' in order to restart the machine. Door gasket may be the best place to start, being an inexpensive part and easy to access.

Look at the bottom of the soft rubber gasket inside the door. There are at least 7 drain holes inside the bottom of that gasket. If they are plugged water may gush out of the gasket around the door. Otherwise I would say that the gasket may be ripped. Not hard to replace just a little time consuming.

Check the bottom of the plastic inner door. If there is a crack or a gouge, have it replaced. Also check the rubber door boot for holes above the water line

SOURCE: Washer leaks from bottom as soon as it starts filling with water

There are 2 green clips between the top of the unit and the front panel. (you can use a flash light to find them easier). Push on the with a putty knife or small flat head screw driver while lifting on the top. Once the top is open, you will find 2 5/16 screws that hold the front panel on at the top on the right and left hand sides. Once these are removed, you can tilt the front panel forward and see where the water is leaking from.

SOURCE: water leaks out of bottom of machine olny when

This can happen when the rubber pipe that connects between the electric tap and the washing tank got disconnected .
Usually it happens after washing fully load machine with towel, blankets etc.
Open the back of the machine and check the rubber pipe, if loose or out of position get it back in to place and tight the metal bands that hold it .

Sounds like a control pcb malfunction. Remember that you are dealing with MAINS Voltages which can be lethal.
Never continue to use a machine that floods or enables random water release for any reason. The end result might be Electrocution, and it is certainly not worth that risk

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

Model # GHW9100LW on final rinse and spin water remains in washer, door locked and humming sound comes from machine....pause/cancel will not unlock door or start new cycle... what might be the problem?

Sounds like the pump is trying to drain the water but something is clogged in it or the pump itself is bad. Door wont unlock if machine thinks there is water inside. Remove front lower panel. pump is in center. Unscrew cap and remove attached filter. Be prepared for water to come gushing out once filter is removed. Clean filter and reinstall. If problem persists then the pump itself needs to be replaced.

Whirlpool Roper Gets to Rinse then water runs but will not fill

The contacts for the outlet pump have fused together in the programmer so that as soon as you apply power the pump motor starts running.

Remove the power first

Quick check is to take off the back panel locate the pump and remove one of the supply leads
put some insulating tape around the end of the lead you have taken off in case it shorts out then put the power back on and try the machine, it should then fill and start to agitate .

If that works then you need a new programmer .

Turn off the power , replace the lead and then put the machine back on to drain out the water

There is a rectangular magnet attached on the inside of the drawer for the detergent. Located on the right hand side near the front of the drawer. This magnet had come loose. Some glue and caulking worked well and the washer is working fine now. Meant to post this weeks ago.

Washer doesnt fill water but goes thru all cycles

After contemplating the issue, I decided that the machine "thought" it had filled. That led me to believe that the water level control was not working. I happened to have a control from an old washer that I could make fit. After replacing this control, I'm back in business. Everything is working fine although I now have only 3 water levels to chose from where I previously had 5. I hope this helps. Good luck. Mark

remove the bottom panel below tha door. youll see the drain pump in the center, fronr of washer. there is a black hose going from the pump to the bottom of the tub. remove that hose. at the end of the hose there is a plastic ball that is supposed to seal the end of the hose. more than likely there is lint build up on the ball or around where the ball seal. clean the ball and the hose and reinstall. you should be fine after that
