Machine is not starting right - brew unit gets stuck and if removed in order to reset the alignment of the gearing wheel in the machine, it does not align in order to get the brew unit back in place.

When the upper and lower, dregs box and descale light, are flashing alternatively, this means that either the grinder or the brew group motor, sensors or switches are not responding to the CPU or pwr board. This will need to be brought to a Saeco Service center for repair. I would not attempt to repair without proper working knowledge of the cpu and pwr system.

Giro odea plus not switching on and brewing unit stuck

Your Main power board is most likely gone I could power mine up though. I had used a card to reset the brew group but the error was far more serious, It cost me $350 to have a new power board but the repairer was a bit unsure if I should spend the money and left it up to me, after repairing it he said it is an extremely good coffee maker and I should get the next 6-8 years out of it. they are the last model in this range that was built in Italy and it is worth fixing in my opinion because if you go out and buy something to replace it it will likely cost $$$$ to get one as good. The repairer also commented on the quality of the coffee it makes he was very impressed by this machine so your choice. I also found another one on ebay and purchased it for a $200 it is in great condition but I now have parts and can run two types of coffee :) hope this helps. Kind regards Jen

Hi, I've got a saeco odea giro plus. 3 weeks old, the descaling ight came on. I followed descaling steps in manual. rinsed off brew group and place it back in unit. now the system will prime, grind, I...

Hello,
Look at the brewing group where the top strainer is. The small holes are blocked with coffee. The water can not pass through them.
You will need to unfold the two screws at the top and then remove the strainer, grow and clean it and clean it if the holes are blocked.
Do this only

The brew group is stuck and will not come out

I hope one of this two solutions solve your problem.

1- The brew group is out of place. Turn the machine on. Close the service door.
The brew group is automatically placed in the correct position.

2-Coffee grounds drawer is inserted. Remove the dregdrawer first, then the brew
group.

Hi, I have a saeco odea giro plus that has just started to leak nearly all of the brewed coffee into the dreg drawer! Any ideas? thanks in advance...

I had a crack in the tube that connected to the brew group that resulted in a similar dumping of coffee in the dregs (and below the dreg drawer and onto the counter) in my Saeco Odea Giro. Replacing the "Saeco Odea Giro Coffee Dispensing Tube, part number 11003468, fixed my problem. You can replace this yourself if you are very handy. These photos are very helpful (The Go seems pretty similar to the Giro.) http://odeago.zxq.net/Odea_Go_Repair/Welcome.html

I cannot remove the brew unit. Talea Giro

The brew unit is cross threaded, you will have to either force it back into the lock position or forward into the unlock position without stripping the threading. Unlocked is of-coarse the best...and the best way to do that I can think of is to try and loosen the base as much as possible.

If it's really not moving, one thought is to place the unit in a large garbage bag to water proof it with the top exposed. Submerge the base in warm water with the top exposed but careful to keep the unit dry. Rest an ice pack on top then attempt to open after several seconds or use a cold cloth to try and force the arrows in the brew unit to align.

To minimize the damage, use quick fast jerky movements to move it into place slowly rather than long drawn-out pressure.

Saeco odea giro. I can not put back the brewing system

Make sure that the brew unit gears is set on the N, check the little arrow next to the handle. Then check the rotation of the machine, by turning it on closing the door so that it can reset itself. Then look at the gears in the machine and the one that will insert from the brew unit if the big one lines up you're good if not then you will have to take it to your nearest dealer to have it reprogrammed.

Red ! flashes constantly

The lube is for the o-rings on the brew unit, and the ones on the white plastic valve behind the brew unit. As for the light there might be something a little coffee grounds keeping the door open.

Odea giro plus gear that drives the brew group has broken 3 times

The coffee is being ground too fine usually. Also not cleaning the brew group and lubricating it regularly can cause this.

The gears are standard plastic and any excessive force will cause them to break. The only things that cause excessive force to gears on saeco machines is fine coffee compacting in the brew group and/or a dirty brew group that gets stuck and does not cycle properly.
