Crack in the pan

I have a V&B toilet pan about 10 years old. The pan has developed a hairline crack in the 'well' of the pan approximately 12 inches long and goes from below to water line to above it. We have putned the water off, but would appreciate any ideas on how to fix it without replacing the entire toilet. Many thanks

SOURCE: any fix for crack in tank other than getting a new

You won't sleep well if you attempt a patch. Trust me on this... But you can contact a local plumbing supply and see if you can purhase the tank separate for you toilet model. Cheaper that a a whole new one, but a safer bet than a patch.

How do I fix a hairline crack in a cracked ceramic floor tile?

you cannot, only way is to replace crack tile. any "hairline restorer" "hairline paint" are simple cons and do not work! crack meant that these two bits move differently and need to be replaced with single unit, matter will go only worse.

Five year old Toto toilet has developed a very slow flush in the past few weeks. Plumber has found no clog in line and water from hose flows freely with no back up. We have two other similar Toto toilets...

This can happen if there is a hole (physical damage) inside the trap. Instead of the weight of the water during a flush causing it to drain right down suddenly and completely, it draws in air and loses the momentum. There could be a hole or a crack, which may be hard to find without removing the unit.

I am trying to loosen the plastic nut under the toilet tank. The tank seems to be leaking from this spot.

i use a spud wrench, cheap one is about 6$ but, check your rubber flat washers on your tank bolts, they get hard and crack, or it's possible that your tank has a hairline crack running from tankbolt hole to tankbolt hole, both are common problems

Toilet tank cracked

You can find a replacement tank on the manufactures website. However, if it's not leaking or leaking very little you can cover the crack, on the inside of the tank, with an epoxy compound. There is a whole lot of pressure on the inside of a tank and typically when they crack it shows up as a very slow leak as the water seeps through the crack. When using the epoxy don't try to put it just in or on the crack. Seal an area a couple inches either side of the crack. These are usually hair line cracks and you won't necessarily be able to see the entire area of damage.

I have a toto toilet that is 9 years old, for 6 months it loses water out of the bowl. Its not cracked or leaking underneath. Any ideas?

Hello. I have been a plumber longer than I care to remember. In my experience, the common cause of the problem you describe is a hairline crack in the bowl. This is what has to happen to be sure. To check the bowl must be pulled, filled and put up on saw horses. You can then see if there's any leakage from the bowl. good luck with it.

In any pressurized system a crack will reduce your pressure. I'm not 100% familiar with this gun so I cannot be sure of exactly where the cracks are. Any time you have a screw on lid, or some type of cam that tightens the lid it's pressurized. Though this may last for years like this, I would not spray with it if it's cracked. It could be dangerous and very messy if it breaks.

What is the diference of 12'' rought or 10''on a installation

if you have a 10" rough in your house you can not install a 12" rough toilet. but if you have a 12" rough in your house you can install a 10" rough you would just have a 2 inch gap between the toilet and the wall.

the rough is measured by measuring the middle of the sewer hole. that your toilett sits on. to the back of the wall this is important because the tank sits behind the toilet. if the tank is too big then the toilet wont fit over the sewer hole.
your house shouldnt have a 10 inch rough unless its about 90 to 100 years old most home's now days go off a 12" to 14" rough.

if you do have an old home you can order any 10" rough toilet at a plumbing supply store. or lowes. they probably wont carry them in stock though because 100 year old houses aren't very common
