Last month , i lost my windows administrator password. I solved my problem with the help of
windows password key 8.0. It worked perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank
password. Just an easy to use bootable CD/DVD . It can also be used on a USB Flash Drive. You
can download it from:

Here is your solution my friend,

This is a non-rebooting workaround for the situation where your login screen gets locked up because you mis-entered your login password three times while trying to log into an account on a Mac that has set a master password for FileVault (it does not matter if the account uses FileVault or not). The login box displays the error 'Type the master password to reset this user’s password and to unlock FileVault. Master Password hint: ...', with no ability to log in as the correct user with the correct password, or to log in as another user or back out of the FileVault password.

  1. ssh enabled on the locked-up Mac.
  2. Administrator user name and password known for the locked-out computer.
  3. Both computers on the network.
Read on for the how-to...

Here's how to unlock the stuck Mac without a reboot:
  1. Determine the IP address of the locked out Macintosh. You can do this by clicking multiple times on the grey text just under "Mac OS X" in the login window.
  2. Launch the Terminal application on the other Mac.
  3. In that Terminal window, type ssh -l admin_name, where admin_name is the name of the admin user on the locked-up Mac, and is the IP address you found above.
  4. Enter in the administrator's password when prompted, then press Enter.
  5. Type in ps -aux | grep and press Return. The results will look something like this: someuser 763 0.0 -0.2 98760 4632 ?? Ss 2:16PM 0:01.07 /System/Library/CoreServices/ console
    root 801 0.0 -0.2 337096 3628 ?? Ss 2:16PM 0:00.12 /System/Library/CoreServices/

  6. Good Luck!
    aminuser 815 0.0 -0.0 18060 316 p2 R+ 2:17PM 0:00.00 grep
  7. Locate the process ID (PID; the second column) for root's instance of loginwindow. There may be multiple entries due to multiple users being enabled, and someone else being logged in. In the example above, root's PID is 801.
  8. Type sudo kill PID#, where PID# is the number you just found, then press Return.
  9. Enter the administrator’s password when prompted and press Return.
The login window should then disappear and reappear, and you should be able to log in as whichever user you want. In the Terminal window of the other computer, type in logout to end the ssh session. This has only been verified for Mac OS X 10.4, but it may also work under 10.3 and 10.5.

[robg adds: It seems much simpler to me to just restart the locked-up Mac, but perhaps there are multiple users logged in, and you'd rather not lose their work. I haven't tested this one.]

Boot up from the OS install dvd, look under one of the menus at the top of your screen, should be called password utility or something. it'll let you reset it.

Bought a used 2010 mac air no disc no usb how to unlock admin and password

It was probably stolen. It might be in your best interest to take it to your local police station and see if the serial number has been reported. (If it was stolen, and the original owner has the theft protection software installed, the laptop can be traced the minute it connects to the web.) If not, take it to your nearest Apple Store and see if they can unlock it for you.

I cant unlock my pc

I am sorry but it's our policy not to give out any information regarding passwords, unlock codes or or any other type of information that could be used to grant access to a protected software or device. You wouldn't be too happy with us if we gave out such information to someone who just swiped your laptop.

What I can tell you is that depending on your model and OS version you should be able to find instructions on this problem. You should also look on Apple's support site because I believe you will need to have them e-mail you a new one.
Hope this helps.

I bought my friends apple computer and i cant get a hold of him so i cant use the computer cuz its locked and i don't have the password

Unfortunately, we have no means of separating valid requests of this type from requests posted by people with stolen laptops. When work of this type arrives at our shop, we have the means to unlock the Mac, but we will perform content and serial number checks to ensure the machine was acquired properly. And yes, we have identified stolen machines in this manner. Even stipulating that you are an honest owner, posting unlocking instructions here would empower other readers who are not. If you can't get hold of your friend, I recommend you bring your machine in to an Apple-certified establishment and have the work performed for you.

apples way to unlock if you boot off the original restore/OS disc and select reset password only . you may get away with using another OS9 or OSx disc, but apples are picky and want the original disc.
or you can bring it in and get it reset at the apple store for around $130-$200

If you mean to change the password, then you need to use the reset password utility on the OSX disc.

I cant unlock my apple laptop

first, reboot your computer. then, hold down the apple key and the "s" key after you have heard the chime. when you get the text prompt enter these terminal commands to make a new administrator account (be sure to hit return or enter after each line):
  • mount -uw /
  • rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
  • shutdown -h now
after rebooting your computer, you should have a new administrator account. you can then proceed to delete the old one and you're set

hope this helps ;-)
