Question about Samson G-TRACK USB RECORDING MICROPHONE Microphone

Open Question

My samson g-track microphone records very quietly

My samson g-track microphone records very quiet even when the recording volume is turned up 3/4 of the way. I plug it in using USB and use acoustica mixcraft 4.1. I just fixed the problem of it recording only on one side. It can record and the driver is recognized but it records quietly if i use windows xp's wav audio driver thing in mixcraft or if i use asio4all. What are settings I should change in asio4all or wav (latency or packets or buffers i have no clue what they are) to get optimal results?

Thanks,

Jamal

Make sure your recording onto a Mono track in your software, don't choose stereo when creating the track.

Why is it suddenly way too quiet?

Try a different mic to see if problem follows. If yes then it is a setting. If not then the mic is bad and needs to be sent to mfg or get a new one.

Try using a computer with a dedicated sound card, not an onboard sound chip. A condenser mike can't provide very much power on its own, and requires power from the attached receiver/amplifier.

Hey. Im having a problem with my samson g track when mixing down midi and audio. The midi comes out really quiet even though its on full volume. It doesn't mixdown correctly. I'm also finding it impossible...

MIDI isn't audio, think of it as a sheet of music. It still needs to be played to be heard. Not sure of your recording setup but the midi performance that you have needs to trigger a keyboard or drum machine or VST instrument of some sort.

It's supposed to only record on the left side. When it's in "INST/MIC" mode the left channel has your mic on it and the right channel has your instrument, so you can mix them separately. Just configure your recording software to put the left channel on one track and the right channel on another track.
