Make sure it is getting power if so, unplug from power, then replace the light bulb/reflector with a known good one.

Kodak carousel 760h projector

The auto-focus system in Kodak slide projectors is really an auto-measurement system: One set manually, the system is supposed to maintain that distance on all subsequent slides. Correct orientation of the slides is that they are all placed in the slide tray in the SAME direction (the matte side of the transparency facing toward the screen). The measurement is from the FRONT of the slide transparency to the BACK of the projection lens. REPAIR calibration of the system requires 2 special tools: a RANGE SLIDE and a TARGET SLIDE. These tool slides and the calibration procedure SHOULD be available from: They purchased all remaining repair parts from Kodak when Kodak stopped supporting slide projectors. Good Luck !! Jim

The problem you describe is a timing issue. Because the 760H is so old (about 45 years old), parts availability may be slim to none.... You may be dollars ahead to buy a working projector off the internet.... Try:

Kodak 760h autofocus does not function

Check with the dealer who is selling you the part, to see if they can provide you with the required pages for disassembly, repair & re-assembly from the Kodak Service Manual. You should be aware that in some cases when this repair is made, it requires the technician to re-calibrate the auto-focus system. To do that, you will need 2 special tools (a "Target Slide" and a "Range Slide"), that were manufactured by Kodak for use on the assembly line and by their authorized warranty repair dealers. You MAY need those, as well.
As you can imagine, all this can begin to get expensive (if you can still get the special tools).... It may be more economical to try to locate another used projector on the internet... Here are 2 dealers I can recommend: For parts & tools -

760h kodak 760h forward and reverse

I'm assuming you mean that the projector won't cycle forward or reverse??? If so, the problem is caused by a broken SOLENOID LINK. The LINK should be able to be purchased from:, along with instructions for installation. For what it's worth: This is not an easy repair. Good Luck !! Jim

I used to have a KODAK warranty dealer in New Jersey - - not sure how close to you, though...... Comet Camera & Video Repair in Cherry Hill, NJ 08002; 856-857-9250. I am unsure of the current status of this business, as Kodak stopped authorized repairs of slide projectors in 2007. Good Luck!!

Kodak 750H and 760H neither will advance carolsel without manual

This is a common problem with older projectors like this. There is a "link" that connects the slide cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is plastic and gets brittle & cracks with age, rendering cycling non-functional. this is a difficult repair, but parts are still available. I recommend you contact an factory-trained repair dealer to get your projectors repaired.

Carousel on Kodak 760H races

The kodak 760H needs occasional cleaning and lubrication of the mechanism. The grease gets gummy and sometimes siezes the motor as well. Take to service center to get it cleaned properly .

Hope this helps .

Kodak 750H and 760H neither will advance carolsel without manual

Both of these models were manufactured by KODAK between 1971 and 1981 (roughly). My guess is that they both have the same failure: The "link" that connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism is broken. This "link" is plastic, and gets brittle & cracks over time. While parts are still available, this repair is best done by a factory-trained tech with the service manuals.
