What does plate tectonic theory mean

Plate tectonics is the theory that Earth's outer shell is divided into several plates that glide over the mantle, the rocky inner layer above the core. The plates act like a hard and rigid shell compared to Earth's mantle.

I have homwook and I have. To do vocab and I need to need to now what I need to now what is the defination of hypothisis

In science, a hypothesis is an idea or explanation that you then test through study and experimentation. Outside science, a theory or guess can also be called a hypothesis.
A hypothesis is something more than a wild guess but less than a well-established theory. In science, a hypothesis needs to go through a lot of testing before it gets labeled a theory. In the non-scientific world, the word is used a lot more loosely. A detective might have a hypothesis about a crime, and a mother might have a hypothesis about who spilled juice on the rug. Anyone who uses the word hypothesis is making a guess.

What does my dream mean?

Taken from http://psychology.about.com
While many theories have been proposed, no single consensus has emerged. Considering the enormous amount of time we spend in a dreaming state, the fact that researchers do not yet understand the purpose of dreams may seem baffling. However, it is important to consider that science is still unraveling the exact purpose and function of sleep itself. Some researchers suggest that dreams serve no real purpose, while others believe that dreaming is essential to mental, emotional and physical well-being. Ernest Hoffman, director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital in Boston, Mass., suggests that "...a possible (though certainly not proven) function of a dream to be weaving new material into the memory system in a way that both reduces emotional arousal and is adaptive in helping us cope with further trauma or stressful events

What is a hypothesis?

In science it is a proposed theory about how certain observations can arise. For the hypothesis to be proven, it must be testable and fit every natural set of observations repeatedly.

Even then, some observation may arise in future which does not fit. For this reason we can never quite prove a hypothesis incontrovertibly.

What do you mean recurrence relation in computer science? advantage and disadvantages in recurrence relation in computer science? what do you mean sequence? in computer science? what are the importance...

Recursion in computer science is a method where the solution to a problem depends on solutions to smaller instances of the same problem. The approach can be applied to many types of problems, and is one of the central ideas of computer science. Most computer programming languages support recursion by allowing a function to call itself within the program text. Some functional programming languages do not define any looping constructs but rely solely on recursion to repeatedly call code. Computability theory has proven that these recursive-only languages are mathematically equivalent to the imperative languages, meaning they can solve the same kinds of problems even without the typical control structures like "while" and "for".In computer science, a list or sequence is an abstract data structure that implements an ordered collection of values, where the same value may occur more than once. An instance of a list is a computer representation of the mathematical concept of a finite sequence, that is, a tuple. Each instance of a value in the list is usually called an item, entry, or element of the list; if the same value occurs multiple times, each occurrence is considered a distinct item.

Different between it and cs

At the most basic level, Computer Science is a "Hard" Science, well grounded in what is now known in the field of Mathematics as Information Theory. Computer Science (as a field) is concerned with developing new ideas around the use and design of computing systems, and with the mathematical concepts of computation and information.

Information Technology, on the other hand, is a practical Engineering discipline, concerned with implementing solutions to practical problems using current-day technology.

When was science invented?

" Francis Bacon is one of the most influential figures in the history of science, even though he never really discovered or invented anything himself. Instead, what Bacon invented, more or less, was the modern scientific enterprise itself."

reead more on above at : http://www.sciencemadecool.com/2007/01/the_man_who_inv.html

Another Point :

"science is a human invention, even though it is worshiped and served like a pagan god. Science is about tools, its first and foremost a philosophy, originally it was called natural philosophy. The term 'science' is a word that simply means 'to know', there are two kinds of knowledge. The kind you know intellectually (theory) and the kind you experience (practice). Science is the kind you experience. Scientific theory is just establish facts organized systematicly. Eventually these theories can be so well establiched that they are called laws, like gravity."

Now my personal point of view :

No one invented science itself, science is the factual search for knowledge. What is science ? Science of the mind ? Psychology
Science of the stars ? Astronomy
Science of Religion ? Theology
Science of numbers ? Mathematics

Who invented that 1 + 1 = 2 ?
No one will ever know, its just a fact, a SCIENTIFIC fact. It is proven.

Science starts with a theory, theories are tried, tested, sometimes even ridiculed. Should enough poeple agree ona point of view the theory slowly become facts, facts eveolve into laws, such as Newtons three laws of gravity.

Did Isaac Newton "invent" this ? no, he merely made gravity factual in the sense that we can scientifically work and measure it and or its effects.

Is politics an art or a science? is politics dirty?why? compare the different fields of study/science to political science.

Whether politics is a science or an art is perhaps a matter of interpretation. However, as you mention, politics is widely considered as belonging to the realm of science. Perhaps a reason for this is that politics is concerned with control and regulation. Thus, politics is associated with measurable concepts. The arts, on the other hand, are more typically associated with immeasurable and even infinitive concepts.
Artists often strive to portray the undefinable and immeasurable. As well, the arts are often concerned with an individual and solitary creator. Politics, in contrast, is largely concerned withcommunity and groups. Despite this, many politicians would say that art certainly comes into the practice of politics. After all, winning an election is a matter of imagery, expression, emotion and persuasion - all these elements are also used when an artist creates a painting. Some people would agree that politics is neither solely an art or a science, but a bit of both.
