I need to replace the wheel on my tiller, The pin is out. The wheel won't budge

Try using some WD-40 between the axle and wheel bearings. Let it sit for a while and then try again.

When I start my tiller, it starts and immediately starts making a loud screaming sound.

The problem you are having is coming from the ratchet bearing located under the pull start housing. Remove the pull start housing, then take the screws out of the screen then put the screws back in the ratchet bearing after you remove the screen. Then remove the ratchet bearing by unscrewing it from the crankshaft. It' best to replace this part and be sure to lightly grease the shaft before you put the new ratchet bearing on and this will solve your problem.

Tiller tines will not turn. Engine runs fine...

Well hopefully it's not the transmission, as sometimes these tend to go. Another common but cheaper repair are the two bearings where the tines connect to the unit.

MORE THAN LIKELY.. The bearing is located above the worm gear housing, the part connected to the tines beneath the guard. This removal can be somewhat frustrating but if you remove it and remove the engine flange you'll be able to manually spin the drive shaft and see if it's the worm gear housing/lower bearings or if it's the more likely bearing on the clutch drum or the clutch itself.

The tines don't want to turn motor runs great

You may have a clutch burned up. The transmission may need replacing.
we had one in the shop earlier this year and the same thing happened to our customer. We tore it down and found some gears needed replacing but Honda does not sell the parts separately. You have to buy a new transmission. And they run about $300.00 USD. Check with your local dealer, see what they might be able to help.

Over filled with oil. Cranked and ran for a short while then stopped. Drained oil and refilled with 3/4/qt fresh oil. Tried to crank but rope to hard to pull.

Unfortunetly you may have spurned an iternal bearing, depending on the type of tiller, If it is hard to pull something is hanging up, seal or bearing on the "cam" will do that, if the oil pressure was enough, or the bearigs were older and worn.

How do i change ball bearings on tiller shaft

Hello mikeant2:

Usually Heat and a Press/Puller are Required to Remove the Bearing from the Shaft. Sometimes I have even had to Cut the Bearings Off with a Die Grinder.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
