Question about Pioneer SD-643HD5 64" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Pioneer sd-643hd5 Hi, I am having the same problem with my pioneer sd-643hd5 tv. The fuse keeps blowing ,the one in the middle. I changed it a few times and it would eventually blow again. However after reading one of the posts that said it was a 5 amp fuse I realized I was using a 4 amp fuse. So anyway I replaced it with a 5 amp fuse and it seems to be working fine. I am a little worried now wondering if it is the right fuse and if my set is going to blow up or worse catch fire. I will be unplugging the set for now until someone can tell me if it is the right fuse or not. Thanks for any help.

Pioneer 65" TV Model # SD-643HD5 won't power up.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

My TV will not come off of standby?

You have a blowed Fuse 6.3amps ,Located in the middle of the power supply board where the FBT flyback Transfomer is. or you need to replace the STK ICs - STK392-110s use 120s,150s 180s. Mats Electronics has them 1-800-628-1118

Pioneer sd-643hd5 fuse issue

The fuses may not be your problem--I have fixed several of these---The large power board is on the right side as you look from the back?

Lots of these sets develop bad solder connections on that board--several sites on the internet offer to have you remove and send them the board to resolder--this set used lead free solder and after some years has problems--a few I have opened had clearly broken solder joints--I usually in this case remove the board(mark all the many plugs and make a diagram) and solder almost all of it by hand----usually fixes this kind of trouble.

I do this here for free so if this information was helpful give me a vote here....I am here to help people.
