You are going to have to replace the DVD drive, there is no way to repair the one you broke.

You can get the drawer to go back in, but it will never function like its suppose to again.

Do you mean the plastic facia for the dvd drive or the full drawer from the xbox?

If the drawer has come out then there's an issue because if you get a new dvd drive you have to flash it to the xbox (depending on model but specialist equipment may be needed) alternate way to replace dvd is to transfer the dvd motherboards over from the old dvd into your new one which does require soldering

This is a 2008 Lite-on i replaced with a 2009 Lite-on to get mine working again, cost me 25pound on ebay for the dvd drive. this way does not require the dvd to be flashed, just fit back into xbox and power up.

Stuck DVD, Can't get CD/DVD out of draw?

This is a common problem, for whatever reason your disc is in the draw and you cant eject it, or get it out..Here is what to do to get the disc out.... get a straightened paper clip, thick needle, or very small diameter stiff wire.. now look on the front of the device you should find a small hole.. push the wire into this hole and push it right in and you will hear and feel a click and the draw will pop open, gently pull it right out, there is your disc.

Cd stuck in Dennon cd player so draw will not close nor can I use the player

Try undoing the screws around the side and back. Top should then slide off and you should be able to remove disc. Make sure it's NOT PLUGGED IN!!

My hotpoint wmud843p washing machine is leaking from the detergent draw at the start of the rinse cycle?

Open the draw. Grip it tightly and pull it out. clean the draw and clean the dispenser housing. Usually leaks due to powder etc getting stuck under dispenser draw causing water to bridge across and leak under draw. Also use a pipe cleaner or cable tie to clear any blocked holes in the dispenser.

I amusing a Brother HL-2140. Recently, the paper curls up and gets stuck in the tray, and will not move forward. I have cleared the pat several times, but the paper is stuck in the rollers, and it tears...

Turn off the machine, > Open the front cover > remove the drum, cartridges, > and check if you can see the jammed paper or not, if so pull it out slowly. If you can't see the paper, close the front cover > Pull out the Tray completely > and once again check if you can see it or not, if so pull it out. Still it's not there? then install the tray and open the back door > pull the tab to open the fuser unit and pull out the paper, you can also pull out the fuser unit.

You can also refer to this tutorial from Brother Solution center..how to clear paper jam

Good luck.

Dvd slider door won't close.

Hi, is it fully open, or just partially open?
Is it nearly shut but just jammed? If so have you tried inserting a flat peice of plastic and pulling the draw open. You could do this with no power to the dvd player, It might be that you haven't inserted the disc properly and it is wedged in.

Try all this and see how you get on.

Xbox will not read disc. When I plug in the Xbox it powers on fine. I insert the disc and close the draw. monitor still show me the draw is open.

It sounds like your DVD drive's laser is malfunctioning. Either that or the tray is not closing all the way. You'll have to open up your console and see if the tray is stuck. If it's not stuck, it's the DVD drive's laser.

You have a few options:

1) Decrease the resistance on the laser to increase power, and it may be able to read the discs again. A guide for that can be found here.

2) If that doesn't work, or you do not wish to do that, you can replace the laser head all together. Replacements can be found on eBay. You can follow this guide to replace the laser head.

3) You can replace the DVD drive completely, but it will require taking the original drive's firmware and putting it on the replacement one. The guide for that can be found here.

I have a dimensionsC521 that has swallowed my cd disc. It is an awkward cd slide since the cd does not stand upright and so I usually tilt the tower over so it doesn't slip out. Now it slipped out and the...

I suspect this is more a mechanical problem than a power or software problem

I suggest powering down your PC,

Laying it down so the CD draw is flat,

Fashioning yourself a home made cd draw ejector device (otherwise known as a straightened paper clip),

Pressing the paper clip quite firmly into the tiny hole next to the CD Draw (it should unlock and open slightly)

Carefully and gently pulling the CD Draw out just enough to see inside and find out where the disc has got to

Physically maneouvering your whole PC to get the disc back onto the tray where it should be

Then you can either manually pull the CD Draw out and remove the disc or start the PC while it's laid down flat and see if the CD Drive auto closes and begins to spin now the disc is properly seated

If your PC doesn't have the tiny hole on the front of the Drive or if the CD Disc cannot be seen at all or cannot be persuaded back onto the tray then it's time to start opening up your PC case and removing the CD Drive for more attention

- NOTE if your PC is still under warranty Opening the Case may invalidate that warranty, check this before you proceed -

Treat Everything Gently and Good Luck!

Philips dvdr 3480 disc draw refuses to open

Illustration:
This usually happens when you close the drawer with no disc in it. There is a strong magnet inside the DVD-drive that keeps the spinning disc in the correct position. But when the drive is empty, the magnet is connected to tough to its counterpart (no disc in between) and the worn out motor and/or transmission (belt) is not able to pull them apart in order to open the disc tray.

How to fix - "brute-force-attack":
Press OPEN and give the disc draw a couple of decent slaps (or snap at the tray cover with your forefinger) until it opens. Repeat procedure, if motor stops before drawer is open.

How to fix - "high-tech-approach":
Disconnect power chord. Locate the slot provided at the bottom of the device, near the smaller, left clip holding the front panel. Insert a screwdriver into it at the far right (when viewing from the front), so you can push a small white plastic-lever-thingy (can be seen thru the slot) to the far left. Now the tray is partly opened and can be pulled out completely.

Future outlook:
Don't you never ever close your old machine with no disc in the tray - or just start over again...
