Question about GE X550-WH Power PRO Series Digital Camera - 16 MegaPixels, 2.7 LCD, 1

Ge X550 will not switch to memory card when it is installed, stays on internal memory

I put in a 16 gb sdhc card, and it stays on internal memory, it's my wifes camera and i'm tryin to make it switch to the card, as she loves taking pictures of the grandchildren. i have already tried re-formating the card, and the camera memory, but it still stays on the internal memory and only gives like 3 pictures at a time and then says "memory full".

Hi, a few possibilities...you may have a menu setting that only saves to internal memory, so: clear your custom menus and check your shooting and playback settings. The specs on your camera states that it supports up to 16GB card, so the problem should be a menu setting. Also make sure the little tab on the left side of the SD card is NOT in the lock position.

Most cameras need the card to be formatted in the camera to get it to work with the camera's operating system. This will erase the card so download any pics you want to save first.

SOURCE: I just bought a new

I would return this camera immediately to the store where you purchased it, since you just bought it, they should either esamine it for the problem you are having, Then replace it or tell you where you have to return it to for a factory replacement.

In the meantime, I would not delete the photo that you have taken so that they can see the problem. Did it come with a small memory card? My resources show that this camera normally comes with a quick start guide and sometimes a manual as well. You might have a look at these. I cannot find an online manual for you.

Good luck.

SOURCE: I can take pics & download to pc. I can take movies & watch on camera, can't download. pc reads : error-2002: a bad public movie atom was found in the movie. tried everything, stumpped.

Downloading from a crad reader, such as the pc card port should work. However, if your card is a 4GB or newer SDHC card, and your computer is more than a few years old, its card reader port may not be able to read the SDHC card (these only came out the past few years). In that case, just purchase an inexpensive USB SDHC card reader (should be only a couple dollars on Amazon, see this). You might also need to use recovery software if the card is becoming corrupt (see this). If all the above works, consider using the USB card reader in the future for downloading all your photos and videos. Also consider purchasing a better quality model card reader at a later date, as the one I linked for you is very cheap/low quality, and meant just for you to try to see if that's your problem.

SOURCE: memory card full

If you already used the card in the same camera, the only thing I can think of is you did switch the lock switch on the SD memory card. Or there must be one or more protected images on your card. If the card comes out of another camera be sure it is a SD or a SDHC card, not bigger than 16 Gbyte because a SDXC card would be one size to big. The manual says max card size 16 GB
If you accedentely formatted the card in the PC (or MAC) it could be you did put a format on the card the camera does not understand. Most camera's use FAT (max 32) and never NTFS.
Try to format the SD card in your PC.

The X550 works with SD cards, which max out at 2GB, and SDHC cards, which max out at 32GB (actually, the manual states 16GB). It does not work with SDXC cards such as your 64GB card. You need to use an SD or SDHC card with this camera.

It's a lost cause. The A540 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My ge a1455 camera has a memory format issue

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

When pictures are taken they are being stored on the camera. They do not go to the SD card.

You need to get rid of the pictures in the internal memory. If you want to save any of them, go into the menu and find "copy". You will find the option to copy them to a memory card. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"....follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then your card should work properly.

I have a kodak M1033 camara with a SD HC PNY optima 240 HD 16 GB and the camara says internal memory is full and is only 1/2 minute video in the camara please help

Hi!
Sonds like the camera hasn't switched to the memory card. Go to setup and set memory to Auto not Internal. If that doesn't help, it's possible that the camera doesn't support 16GB card, but it should give you a card error then, so check the memory settings first.
