the camshaft drives the distributor gear at the bottom of the distributor and in the bottom of the distributor gear is a slot which fits onto the oil pump drive shaft common problem is the cam gear is made of plastic and the teeth break off and clog the oil pump screen if the gears are replaced and the oil pump is not replaced or cleaned failure will result
You can probably get it from the manufacturer ... but in my experience - by the time you get the part - IF you can get the part - get the top apart - install the part and put it back together, you have more invested than you would if you replaced it.
my suggestion is that watever spare part u replace, get it replaced by the original manufacturer to avoid future problems. take it to the shop you have bought it from, ask them where u can get one. they may help u better with contacting the manufacturer. i know its time consuming! good luck!!
This Shredder is an Aurora AS650C Rebranded for Walmart as Durabrand. You can call Aurora at 800-327-8508 8-5 PST and tell them that you need one of the plastic gears for the WM6X Durabrand, they know exactly what your talking about, and will offer you two gears. The one that is in contact with the drive motor is gear "A" and the Plastc reduction gear that drives the steel gears is gear "B" Hope this helps
just repaired mine today same problem.
Turbine drive shaft which drives two sets of plastic gears and which in turn make the scrub brushes rotate has sealed ball bearings and I guess from an evidently poor design moisture some how entered plastic gear casing and the sealed bearings froze up which evidently aren't sealed all that well. Anyway (turbine drive after easy removal from unit 8 screws on bottom one on top can be disassembled by removing 4 screws around gear casing allowing access to the plastic drive gears and the bearings) You can make a decision from there of whether or not a new replacement turbine is a better way to go.
The entire turbine unit can be purchased online for a very reasonable price if you look around the Web.
I have a left over set of these plastic gears that I can send to you. The motor bracket on mine snapped. I took it apart to check. It looks unrepairable.
