Question about Building Materials

Help, ive tried 3 different poultices on my granite countertops and the stains are still there!

1st poultice: paper towels soaked with acetone.2nd poultice: baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.3rd poultice: flour and dish detergent. All left on 24 hrs with wax paper or plastic wrap then another 24 hrs to dry. Poultices don't appear to be adhering to stains. When I wipe down the countertop, disappear & reappear 2 min later.

What parasites and or bugs burrow under skin and fester and how do i get rid of them

Natural anti-parasitical: Black walnut hull (also natural antibiotic).
Goldenseal contains berberine, which has been shown to be comparable to the effectiveness of metronidazole, a commonly prescribed anti-parasitic ****.
I would make a poultice using the above in powder form; use distilled water.

How to clean coffee stains on white coffee maker

Plastic can absorb Stains, so you will need to use some kind of bleaching poduct.

some products you can try individually:
  • Baking soda
  • Bleach
  • Water
  • Vinegar
  • Rubbing alcohol
Dilute with luke warm water , except for Rubbing Alcohol
Use some kind of tray which you don't mind if it gets bleach stains to protect your countertop. put the device on the tray.
If you can't soak an item, try disconnecting the device, then wrapping a lightly soaked hand towel or paper towel over the area that is discolored

Rinse with luke warm water, and make sure device has completely dried before reconnecting.

Which one has more heat resistant: Granite or Silestone? Explain?

Planning to refurbish your kitchen, Now-a-days, a wide range of choices for kitchen countertops are available in the market, which make you to choose the perfect one. In case if you are looking to select granite or Silestone for your kitchen worktops. Then, as per my knowledge both are popular choices, but he Granite is a very durable natural stone with a high aesthetic value. It is heat and scratch resistant but also porous and therefore possible to stain; it needs periodic maintenance. Where as the quartz used in countertops and flooring is a man-made combination of resins and crushed quartz. The resulting surface is non-porous, meaning it is more stain resistant than granite and requires less maintenance overall. Granite countertop

Granite needs to be color matched epoxied together at the seams. If they are sitting level and flush (and Solid) a home owner solution is to use matching silicone filling the seem then cleaning off with a good solvent. tape the top on both sides before starting. The second solution works to keep out food, but may not look great if they are not flush or have not been cut cleanly and the gap is not too wide. You will need suction cup turn buckles to pull them tight. Do not do any of the above if you are not comfortable with your skill level or feel it may damage your top. Granite can be stained using the wrong products.

Can't unscrew the threaded nut which tightens the Kohler Clairette faucet to the countertop. Have sprayed with liquid wrench to no avail. Can't get a good hold on it and am also afraid to crack the...

Those so-called dress nuts are not easy to remove because there is no way to get a grip. Try cleaning the nut thoroughly to remove any Liquid Wrench residue then use one of those rubber or plastic jar openers and the Armstrong removal technique to loosen the nut. You might also tap the nut with a rubber mallet or a hammer wrapped in a towel to loosen it. Worst case, you may have to partially remove the faucet assembly to gain better access to the nut and remove it. Be sure to protect the granite countertop while doing any work

An ink pen accidentally got in with the clothes we were drying. So now ink stains spewed around the drier. Anything that can be done to clean the mess up?

Hello. I can help you. This is what I recommend - To remove ink stains from your clothes dryer, place 2 cups of bleach in a bucket, then fill the busket halfway with water. Take some old towels and soak up the liquid in the bucket. You don`t want the towels to be dripping wet, just damp. Place them directly into the dryer to remove the ink and run an entire cycle. Repeat if necessary. When you feel you have removed the ink sufficiently, place an old dry towel in the dryer to make sure that you removed all of the ink. Generally it takes about an hour to remove all of the ink.
