SOURCE: Freezer GFI reset

no what rpobebly happened is that your freezer fillefd up with humidity and now its shorting out and tripping the breaker. make sure that theres no ice in the freezer also you should not really have it plugged intoi a gfi outlet.if its in the garage near the breaker panel i would add a dedicatefd outlet for the freezer from the electrical box.

SOURCE: moved our fridge, cleaned it and plugged it in.

Try it without a GFI. I don't think they work well with them.

Refrigerators do not work well on gfci protected outlets. Plug it in to an outlet that is not gfci protected and it should work fine.

SOURCE: Ice maker stopped making ice. Repairman replaced

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Ice Maker not working

I have a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator freezer MRS20WRGW0. I had the thermostat-defrost replaced yesterday. Now the ice maker isn't working, doesn't have water in the "tray" part that makes ice, but does still dispense water through the door. What could be causing this problem?

Good chance your Gfi is on verge of failure I had one, took long time for me, yes me to figure it out. Replacement may solve problem. Double check, have you added other appliances on the same circuit? GFI will pop when other appliances are on the same circuit. For example two coffee makers on same time same GFI and similar issues. Otherwise may have a problem with the ice maker voltage leaking somewhere. If GFI replacement doesn't help. Do you still have warranty on Icemaker? If so follow that. If not contact Ge anyway. Recalls maybe "hidden".

It's recommended not to plug refrigerators into gfi's due to regulated amp draws you'll find that if you use an extension cord and plug it into a standard outlet that issue will go away

My manitowoc ice maker keeps tripping the gfi

A lot of times I have found this is usually just a bad gfi I recommend never installing any refrigeration using a gfi. If it is not prone to water being splashed on it and code does not require it, I would change it to a standard receptacle. I would start by replacing the GFI as my first solution.

Gfi outlet trips right before the final spin cycle. This is on a top load kenmore 80 series washer. I replaced the timer but the problem still exists. The timer seems to be in a pause mode. In other words,...

Motor driven appliances can trip GFI outlets when there is no problem at all with the appliance. When a large motor first starts, it draws more current for a short time and some GFI outlets will trip (others may not).

Are GFI outlets required by code in your state/county for washing machines? If not, replace the GFI with a standard outlet. If so, replace GFI with a higher quality GFI outlet.

Frigidaire GLRS264ZA refrigerator keeps blowing GFI circuit

The fan and defrost heater are run off the same relay on the board. When on defrost, the fan stops. when the fan starts, the defrost heater is switched off, Sounds like the neutral to the board may be shorting. If you have the ability, try powering the evaporator fan from the compressor relay, disconnecting from the board entirely. To see if this will work, just take a temporary wire to the fan when disconnected and see if it trips while running.

My under counter Uline refrigerator/ice maker suddenly trips GFI

I here this alot. If you have a compressor on a gfi the compressor after awhile would trip it. The compressor start amps is usually higher than the gfi is rated. So you have 2 choices. Replace the GFI and try to find one with higher amp ratings. Or install a normal outlet for your unit. Your code will usually call for a gfi, If it does then replace with a new gfi.
To explain the start amps on a compressor depending on your model could be 10 amps. This is for a split second. However the gfi can become week after time. You can also try to plug the unit into a normal outlet to make sure everything is good on the unit. I believe it is the gfi

Hi, Are you unplugging the big black hard wire that goes under the evaporator coil in the freezer. If so, that is the defrost heater and it has gone bad. Please let me know if I can explain anything further.
