The ice maker noise may be related. B/C the fan is not working properly, the ice may be melting and then freezing again. This can cause extra strain on the mechanism that feeds the ice. I had a similar situation and my ice maker eventually broke. Fun times.

Candy CSC 1745WE fridge freezer just started making a noise like the cooling fan is catching on something. This noise stops when you put pressure on fridge or freezer doors. Any ideas, many thanks.

If the defrost is not working then ice could be forming inside the unit. If that's the case then it will get worse as more ice forms and the unit eventually wont cool or will cool very little. Sometimes a panel or the fan blade isn't adjusted right and it hits something making noises. In the case you would have to pull the covers off inside the freezer .

Kenmore refrigerator making high pitch noise top front

could be the ice maker or the evaporator fan can try lifting the arm up on the ice maker and see if it stops, this will shut off the ice maker.also when you open the freezer door to lift the arm on the ice maker the evap fan motor should start when you open the door, you should hear it blowing around,is this the noise you hear?these are the two things i can think of that could make a noise up top,if not it could be the compressor or the condenser fan motor but these are down the bottom back of machine but still could be the problem,if the ice maker and evap fan motor both in the freezer are ok pull out the machine and remove the bottom back panel and check to see if the noise is coming from there where the condenser fan motor and compressor are, you're going to have to do some detective work to find the noise, hope this helps you out.

Onetwo l brand new today tried to switch back on from standby making hideous noise not booting up

The hideous noise points to a failing hardware component. For it not to boot would mean a processor fan or case fan is not cooling adequately causing a system restart to prevent damage from overheating. It could also be a hard drive that is failing because it is no longer spinning correctly. Replace the fauly parts to fix the problem

A broken fan blade can cause a noisy motor. or a buildup of ice can cause some noise. If thes aren't the case you will need to have the fan motor replaced.

The fan catches as it turns and grinds loudly

Yes, Find out what it is "catching" on and adjust.
Sometimes it is nothing more than a wire pushed too close and begins to ping on the fan blades. If the fan blades are catching on the face plate. See if you can loosen the screws and pull then tighten to allow more space. You do not need much! Drastic solution would be lightly file the edge of the fan blades to provide more clearance.
Caution! You have to file evenly on all blades to keep the balance.
Of course the amount of metal you would remove would be relatively tiny.

It may be nothing more than insulation or paper which can be removed easily.
Good luck!
Hope this Helps!

Fan is making a loud noise by the ice maker. Sounds like it is rubing against something. It turns off when you open either door.

the fans normally stop when you open door fan probably has ice or frost in cover area remove food from area and check cover make sure not cracked and pushing in on fan also check and see that fan doesnt have plastic or foil stuck in it if ice dont have to defrost whole system clear food away and use a hair dryer on high directed on fan housing after a few min 8-10 check fan to see if ice or frost is gone

Noise vibration

if you take the back panel of the freezer out you can get to the condenser fan they do have a habit of going bad and actually having the fan and shaft move forward on them usually when you start hearing the noise it is not long before it goes out completely.

theres ice in the fan propelar, if you see no ice blocking the propellers its the fan motor itself,if you unplug the fridge and stick something thin between the vents where you feel the air blowing thru and try turning the fan, gently and it spins smooth its the fan motor,if you dont wish to do this turn freezer off, open the door and let it defrost, then plug it in if buzz still there its the fan motor
