same issue. i have this model and it will play for a good 20 minutes or so just fine. Turns itself off and flashes the warning temp light while the internal fans blow hard to cool down the inside. Have already cleaned the air vents. Any other suggestions? Is it time for a new bulb or worse?

I have one of these as well. It powers on fine and will stay on anywhere between 5 - 35 minutes and then loses pictures and the fans hum louder to cool it down. Odd thing is theres no temperature warning and its random as to how long it will keep picture. Ive cleaned all the filters located underneath the unit(caked with dust!), reseated the bulb, even checked the cooling fans and the unit looks clean on the inside. Its either a temp problem or a circuit board issue. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

It also has a "burn" mark towards the bottom, any ideas? Thanks

Sanyo pro xtrax projector

Lamp LED should be lit when the projector is in Standby. However, the problem you are describing sounds like one of two issues. Either the lamp is bad and needs replaced, or there is a power supply fault. If you have tried replacing the lamp already, make sure you reset the lamp counter or the projector may still not function properly.

does the temp warning light come on when the projector shuts off? if so you may also try cleaning the air vent filters and ensure there is proper air flow around the projector. if that checks out then have the projector serviced as the power supply is likely suspect.

My data projector eiki LC-Xb23 goes off without warning and the warning light is flashing

If the power light & warning light both flash red, this indicates that the projector is overheating. Once the projector has cooled down the warning light would continue to flash red and the power light would be solid red.

You should clean the air filters.

The filters are located on the underside. Disconnect all cables and invert. remove the 2 air filters located at the front and rear by pullingthe latches. They are both rectangular in shape.

Being very careful not to damage them, you should rinse the dust out and leave them to dry fully before replacing them in the projector.

This should cure the problem.

Do you hear the fan start up? or does the projector lamp come on (you start to see an image)?

If yes to either:

When the temperature inside the projector reaches a
certain level, the projector will be automatically shut down
to protect the inside of the projector. The POWER indicator
is blinking while the projector is being cooled down. When
the projector has cooled down sufficiently (to its normal
operating temperature), it can be turned on again by
pressing the POWER ON-OFF button.

After the temperature inside the projector returns to normal, the
WARNING indicator still continues to blink. When the projector is
turned on again, the WARNING indicator stops blinking.

Then check the matters below:
– Did you provide appropriate space for the projector to be
ventilated? Check the installing condition to see if
ventilation slots are not blocked.
– Is the projector not installed near the ventilation duct of
air-conditioning equipment which may be hot? Install the
projector away from the ventilation duct of airconditioning
– Are the air filters clean? Clean the air filters periodically. Let me know if you need to know how to do this.

If no to either:

When the projector detects an abnormal condition, it is
automatically shut down to protect the inside and the
WARNING indicator will be red. In this case, disconnect the
AC power cord and reconnect it, and then turn the projector
on once again for check. If the projector cannot be turned
on and the WARNING indicator emits a red light, disconnect
the AC power cord and contact the service station for check
and repair.

Please let me know if this helped solve the problem. If not, is there anything else you observed - whether or not you believe it's relevant.

Hi there

This sounds like a common Ballast ( lamp's power supply ) problem.

Only way to rectify this is by replacing the faulty Ballast.

Won't power up

Hi, The owners manual says that if the red light is flashing, it is an indicator that it is ready to be turned on (use remote or onboard on button); flashing red & green - too high temperature inside, the unit is overheated. Check and clean the air filters; If the red light is steady, abnormal condition and you have to call for service. A copy of your manual is available at Hope this be of some help. Pls post again how things turn up. good luck and kind regards.
