Question about Motorsports
I went to long without driving my 1989 corvette. And I fear that the gas may have shellacked my injectors and possibly my throttle body. Just wondering witch company makes the very best injection cleaner or any other ideas how to clean it up. Thanks.
I recommend against most additives. The proper way is to drain the tank. Replace the fuel filters and blow old gas out of the lines with compressed air. After reassembly, fill with good new/clean gas. Fire it up. Let the good gas run through it awhile it should clear out the effects of the bad gas. If it still stumbles remove air cleaner tube and use quick squirts of carb and choke cleaner into the throttle body. Just enough to keep it from dying. That should clean it out. Next time use a proper fuel stabilizer like Stabil for long term storage.

Lucas , Sea foam and Royal Purple are popular brands of fuel system cleaner. You may also want to consider replaceing the fuel filter.

Other things you might find are corrosion in the ignition system,
Lifters that are no pumped up fully because the OIL is turning to sludge with age and the lifters lost there prime while sitting,
I suggest running all the fuel out of it, flling it up with 93 octane, changing the oil, and go through the ignition system. then drive it for a good 60 miles at freeway speeds to get all the fluids moving, and everything heated up and moving to blow out the years of abuse (from sitting)
If that does not help (in my experience in the late 80's cleaning those old injectors never really helped much, they were not very good injectors) You can find cheep injectors at Injector Warehouse The Fuel Injectors You Need or at 1989 1991 CHEVROLET CORVETTE FUEL INJECTOR REPLACEMENT OE REPLACEMENT.. at a resonable cost.
Along with a Fuel additive to prevent fuel from going bad, I suggest starting it at least twice a year for 30 minutes to prevent things like this.
Worst case scenario is that it sat so long the cylinders started to rust and the engine now needs to be Ovehauled.

Sir how long has it been exactly? how much gas was left in the tank at the time of non-operation what grade was the fuel that was left? based off of your answers i can formulate you a product that would best suit your needs as well as prevent any further damage bad fuel may or might cause. I ascertain that the vehicle is fuel injecting sequential multi-port. and if you made it through a long drive albeit performance -hindered you have a fair chance of preventing a major job and getting your beauty back healthy with the best product you can get. please message me with the required info and ill give you a call the products that i sent to you on this answer are what i have had the best experience with based your initial info i would say to go ahead and put all of the mystery oil in gas tank and when you are finished driving for the day put the heet in and let it sit overnight or for 24 hours if you can it doesnt like to be disturbed
