You're discussing about its SMPS transformer at its main power supply section circuit; I assume. It it sounds [like a buzzer]; check for any loose fitting with its ferrite core.

Testimonial: "Yes, it is the SMPS Transformer. The component seems tight in and out. The ferrite core is center windings? That is not loose. Do you think it can be replaced with a similar SMPS? Where can I find replacement?"

You are on target with the problem. Thanks so much, I have learned a lot just from your first response. Where do I go from here? What next?

Yes. The SMPS transformer can be replaced; but should be the similar in all respects. Take note about it number. It can be noted on it either by a sticker, or printed. Anyway, just switch on the set, and press the top of the core of that transformer. Never touch it with bare hand. Risk of shock is there, and will be very fatal. Wear an hand gloves, or hold a non conductive material to touch it. I suggest you to use the plastic handle of a toothbrush. It must not be moist. When you press on the core, while the transformer buzz will stop, make sure that its core is loose, and try to make it tight by some way, using any fast drying glue to stick it. Just apply one or two drops of 'super-glue', is better. Check this before you replace it Dennis. I'm sure that you,ll succeed. Be cautious while working. The set is Live, and the part you're going to experiment too is Live, while the set is switched ON. Take all precautions when we work with high voltage electrical equipment. Ok?

I have a sharp LC-37D40U that will not power on. The power light blinks 1 time every second. I held the input and volume - button while plugging the TV on and the TV cuts on and then cuts right back off,...

OK if you have blinking red light.

Try to open the cover then disconnect the inverter board after that try to power it on again..

If the light stays in blue (LIT) and of course you don't have picture or backlight you have faulty inverter board that need to be replace.

High piercing squeal coming from a component on circuit board

if it is squealing most likely the horizontal output transistor is shorted and possibly the flyback transformer caused it to short.

My plasma, lcd tv only shows in black and white

Would you say say the color is intermittent, sometimes black and white an occasionally flashes streaks of color? The small signal board may be at fault. You can ask to have the board replaced or fix it at the component level. Parts for the board at component level could be PN#823827736071 location 1H00, this is i beleive a color crystal, and two capacitors , PN#223886975478, location #s are 2H08 and 2H09. This repair is very prettymuch the repair you will need. Theses are surface mount parts and will require a tech to do. Hope this will give you a good start for repair!!!!!

I found chirping noise problem

If your set is an RCA which I believe it is, you can contact RCA to find their part distributor for your area.

How did you determine that these parts are acutaly defective???

When these types of parts are defective, the cause must also be found. When replacing the parts, they will probably fail again unless the underlying cause is found. This will require the proper training, service manual, TV service experience, and the proper tools for troubleshooting.

As for changing the parts, you will require the proper tools and soldering equipment. After all the faults are found and the parts replaced, and the set is working, it is best to verify the power supply performance, the high voltage regulation, and the operating temperature of the various components effected in order to insure reliable after service operation.
