I have checked both pressure switches on the right hand side. I have disconnected both and blown gently in them. I can hear the switch operate. I have blown back through each tube and there are no blockages in the manifold. I don't know what else to check. There appear to be no flood detectors anywhere.

I have monitored the voltages on the contacts but get inconclusive results. Sometimes it seems to be 25vac then drops to 6 vac when the machine is pumping ?

Good Afternoon Martin,

I see that you are having trouble with the pump continuously running on your Electrolux dishwasher, model number ESL6114. From this model number, I am showing that this is a European model and questions would need to be directed to the manufacturer in that specific country. I could possibly find a number for you if I can kindly give me the country you live in or the country where your dishwasher was manufactured or purchased. Looking forward to hearing from you.

-Best Regards-
WP

Samsung dish washer won't stop running event with the door open no leaks no water anywhere pump pushes water out drain hose

if you can hear it running even with door open its probably in a fault mode as this the only circumstance in which it will run with the door open, what you are hearing is the drain pump and its doing that because there is a leak in the base of the machine setting off its flood switch, if you pull the dishwasher out and lean it back you will see water run out the bottom, then you need to find where its leaking from

Why does pump run continuously?

Sounds like you may have a water leak which is activating the anti flood device in the Base of the machine

As I turn the unit on, it sounds like the dishwasher is starting but no water is being dispensed. Any thoughts?

Hi,

The most likely reason is the float switch (anti-flood protection system) has been tripped and the noise you can hear is the drain pump running continuously despite the washer being empty. If this noise continues even with the door open, it's definitely the float switch. This could be a faulty switch, a stuck float, or water may have leaked into the bottom of the machine below the tub.

It would help if you could specify a model number as the flood-protection components vary between models. If you don't know the model number, you should be able to find it laser-etched at the top of the stainless-steel inner door.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please specify a model number and whether the washer seems to be "running" with the door open.

Pump running continuously, Yes there was a drain pack, have emptied water, float switch clicks when moved with screw driver. Only one red light shows ( last cycle - pots ) what else can I do... James

What type of dishwasher do you have? Has your kitchen floor flooded? If it has. The tray under dish washer isn't water tight. Moisture creates some unusual problems. Some of newer dish washer the there control panel under the top of door this also create problem especially if the switches are on the top of the door. Another moisture problem. I have repaired a new Electrolux dish was three times in less than 6 months. The floor would flood from the Maytag side load washing machine. The Madam of the house didn't tell me that the washing machine flooded the kitchen floor. No window in the door and sometime fill water solenoid would stick and fill the tube. When they open washing machine door, 12 gallons of water would spill. So I fix both of them. GB...stewbison

Bosch SHU runs even when the door is open, what do i need?

Hi Jeffrey,

This depends what you mean by "runs". If the dishwasher continues with a wash cycle - i.e. circulating water - with the door open, the simple answer is that you have a defective door microswitch.

However, I suspect what you perceive to be the dishwasher running, is actually the drain pump running continuously. This happens when the anti-flood protection system has been activated and continues even when the door is opened. The simplest way to check is to open the door (while it's "running") and pour some water into the tub. If the water drains away immediately, this shows the drain pump is running and the anti-flood protection has been activated.

This may be due to water having leaked into the base of the dishwasher, but it could be as simple as a stuck or defective float-switch.

Please try the simple test above then post back for further assistance. If you're planning to investigate or repair this yourself, you're going to need a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multi-meter would be useful as well.

The drain pump keeps running when the machine is

This sounds like its gone into flood mode.
If water is detected in the base of the machine, the pump switches on and stays on to prevent flooding.
Normally to reset you would lean the machine backwards and let the water drain out.
In your case, switch off the mains, remove the lower kick panel. Shine a torch in there and you should see the water. CAREFULLY dry it out and it should reset.
If it does it again, you need to check for leaks.

My d1716 continues to run, but does not move forward in the cycle. I can even open the door and it continues running. If I didn't unplug it, the motor would likely burn out. Do I need a new dial? Thanks.

Hi

I would suggest that your flood switch has been activated. There is a float on the bottom plate or base plate of the machine. If there is a water leak, the float rises and triggers the flood switch.

Once the switch has been activated, the machine will go on a continous pump.

Disconnect the power and the hoses from the machine. Pull the machine out and lay it on its back.

If there has been a leak, you will notice water pouring out the back.

See if you can open the bottom plate, and reset the floater and flood switch. Sometimes you can access this by openning the front kick plate or front bottom plate.

Try the machine again. Leave the front bottom plate out and look into the bottom as the machine is working. If you have a water leak, this will happen again and you may be able to notice where the leak is from.

Be carful not to touch the live wiring while you are monitoring the machine.

Good luck
Ash

Pump continuing to run -Asko D3100

Micro switch was actually faulty, moisture had entered the switch and caused internal tracking and shorting out the micro switch ,making the pump run continually as it thought it was still in flood mode.
Flood appears to have been caused by a pin hole in the water fill hose in the base of the dishwasher, causing water to spray on the micro switch and eventually biuld up in the base of the machine.
