Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
If it does this for every game, then there is a magnet inside that has broken loose. It is fixable, or it is replaceable.

Your DVD drive could be shotty.........
Probably broken, check if you have/still have a warranty for it, if so i would send it in for free/only pay for shipping.
Without warranty it's roughly $120 USD.
One of my firneds had this problem and he actually MODDED his xbox and it fixed this.....
It's surprisingly worth it, I have done it to mine, and you can play your LEGAL backups of your games.
(yes it's legal to have 1 copy of your game)

This happens WAAAAAAY to often with these consoles.
The culprit is a magnet inside of the dvd player that holds the tray from opening because the magnet is slightly too strong. The magnet is used to hold the dvd/games in place while they spin. The way to fix this is to buy a package of those hole reinforcment rings that you use to fix the holes in paper to keep inside of a binder. at staples they are called portable reinforcments.
What you have to do is place one or two fo these ring stickers over the magnet inside of the dvd player. If you open the dvd player you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

Here's a link to a site that gives a lot of details about how to repair the DVD drive on your xbox. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/xbox_dvd_repair.htm Sometimes all it takes is to clean the dust off the lens and mirror. This site offers a tutorial on how to do that. However, before you take your xbox apart and void any warranty I recommend you go to http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/default.aspx. This is the Microsoft support web site. You can determine if your xbox is still under warranty. If it is I recommend having Microsoft do the repair. Here's the specific link to the warranty page. http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/Hardware/Warranty/Warranty/ProductWarrantyNew.aspx

This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. Try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be replaced. Contact Microsoft and see if the unit is still under warranty. If the unit is not under warranty go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can clean/replace the laser for you. All of our repairs come with a 90 day warranty that covers the whole console not just what we repaired. We also offer extended warranties up to 4 years at additional cost. If you have any other questions/concerns feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call toll free 1-888-389-3038.
