I suspect a resistive ground between negative battery post and chassis...If you have an ohmmeter and a wee bit of knowledge on its use perform the following test...Set meter to read X- 10...Engine off...Place one lead on the center of the negative battery post...The other on bare metal of fender...You must read close to zero ohms...while holding the lead on battery negative post place the other on bare metal of engine block...Must read close to zero ohms...If you read 500 to 2000 ohms you have located the fault...Run test and give results...saailer

SOURCE: new battery and alternator. Battery still won't hold charge

Check all your fuses if you had a system failure it could have blown a fuse. I am not sure on your vehicle where the fuse is in the car or under the hood it could also have a relay. You can check your alternator by checking the voltage at the back of the alternator where the big wire bolts on. You should have 14+ volts at the alternator.

SOURCE: Kia Rio overheating although everything seems ok

Possible early signs of a water pump problem. A failing waterpump will circulate coolent when the RPMS are high but when you slow down, so does the waterpump, thereby causing overheating.

My 2013 Kia Optima makes a clicking noise and won't start. Just had it at dealership two days ago.

1. Check that the wiring to the battery is tight on the battery terminals and the terminals are clean. Try and jump start the car from another vehicle. If it starts then your battery is bad and needs to be replaced. Also have the alternator checked to ensure it is producing the required electrical current to run the vehicle and keep the battery charged.

2. If it does not start with an attempted jump start off another car and your car is still under warranty get the car to the dealer and get them to check the " brake sensor". If the sensor is faulty your car will not start. However with this condition you would not usually hear any clicking either.

First off have a load test done on the battery as there is a dead cell evident. Run fault codes and look for a problem TCM (transmission control module) which may be affected by the battery fault. Have a pressure test done on the transmission to check for internal problems. Check oil level when hot.
