Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a dell satalite dish with a sonicview 1000 modem. The system crashed and the guy who brought it up for me is gone--any site I can go to to bring it up. I know he used to plug it into his computer to bring it up--is there a site or a program I have to buy to restore the system

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Windows vista crashed. changed bios to load xp. worked. old files on hidden drive. problem is cant connect to internet. driver files on hidden drive. Now what? Try to find driver and load it?

your explanation is very confusing. your internet connection must come from a modem either directly or remotely thru router. your mentioning of hidden drive does not make sense. drivers are not part of internet connection. you need to reset the modem and router if you are connecting through it. turn everything off. unplug router and modem. after 15 seconds unplugged, plug only modem in, wait until lights stablize; now plug router power back in, wait for lights to come on;,next turn PC on. Wait until completely booted up. go to control panel click on Network Internet, when opens try to find the local connect to network. if none, then your modem is not receiving signal or IP Address from your internet provider(comcast, centurylink, whoever). check status, if active fine. if active but icon says no internet access then your router is not set correctly. you may have lost its set up and you will have to reset up your router. you should have the step or instructions for doing that. after resetting and network active, restart computer so that is receives fresh settings from router.
if no network is found after restart you may have to reconfigure your internet connect by using the internet connection wizard(control panel).

it seems that correct network drivers are missing. Easiest way is to download the drivers from manufacturors site, transfer them with USB stick and install.

Hello experts, I changed the hard drive out of a Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop the old hard drive failed years ago. After the logic board failed on my G5 iMac, and due to a lack of funds I dusted off the Dell...

Yes. Dell systems are good about selecting the correct driver to install even though you manually install the driver. There will be an error if the driver doesn't support the hardware on your system. If the driver is correct/compatible the driver will installed.

Not tracking satalite.

If you can hear the dish actually serching when it says "searching", there is a good possibility that you have a bad LNB on the dish. Unfortunately, this is not the only thing that can cause the problem. Your best bet is to call KVH @ 4018473327. Make sure you are on the boat when you call and they will run you through all of the programming checks to narrow down your issue. Good luck.

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

chances are that you have only lined up the dish to pick up one satellite. there are several satellites up there for dish and its easy to miss the ones that you need. try to line up the dish keeping this in mind. if that doesn't work, write back.
