hiit is not easy to tell what exact problem. It has quite of causes in your case. But I can only tell most common cause that it is sequence unit fail. SOURCE: my nikon d3100 is saying

Hey Julie,

We'll solve your problem in a moment.

Step 1,

First, I need you to look through the viewfinder, and press the shutter release button, half-way, and notice the difference. Don't let go, till you hear a beep sound. The blurriness that you see will clear automatically.

If you hear no noise, and the blurriness doesn't go, try this.

Step 2,

On the lens, there will be a tiny button. It'll have A-M on it. Switch it to 'A', if not already on it.

Once you do that, try step one again. Now, you'll be able to overcome your problem.

Toodles,

Rebel!

=)

SOURCE: setting dpi on my nikon d3100

DPI (dots per inch) is an output specification and is irrelevant to the camera. The camera puts a value into the field simply because it has to put something there. The DPI is set by the printing program when it prints a picture. A picture printed at 4x6 will obviously have more dots per inch than the same picture printed at 8x10.

SOURCE: Does the Nikon AF 70-300mm f4-5.6G Lens work with the Nikon D3100?

Yes, as long sa the lens can fit the bayonet. But it can't focus, because there are no AF motors in Nikon D3100 and AF 70-300mm f / 4-5.6 - G. And Nikon lens with AF is without AF motor. Lens marked with AF-S have focusing motor

hoestly, no idea how to fix a faulty camera. But I can help youu with some advice: did it actually take the photos?
Remove SD memory and introduce it in a SD reader for PC.
It should show as a Removable disk and you can verify if your photos are there

I have a nikon d3100. i.can not get it off of auto focus i have it in m a s and p but it will not adjust

The M, A, S, and P settings control the exposure and have nothing to do with focusing. To change the autofocus mode, press the [i] button to bring up the information screen, cursor down to the fifth item from the top along the right edge, press the OK button, then select the desired focus mode.

Can someone help me on my nikon D3100 freeze problem?

New battery that is fully charged. My Nikon D3100 has had the problem of freezing every ten or so pics since it was a couple of months old. Still does it today after six months of use. I take a few hundred pics with it when shooting but only shoot once or maybe twice a month.

Have to take the battery out, put it back in etc. each time. Sometimes it allows me to power off and then back on but either way it's a pain in the rear and a serious "time waster".

D3100 is showing a blurred image on the screen and sometimes get better with a little pressure. Could you help me?

Dear Robert,
RELAX. Take a deep breadth. Your D3100 is working perfectly. I'm a proud owner of this little genius of a DSLR myself.

What you've stated as a problem, is in-fact the D3100's auto-focus at work.

When the shutter button is pressed half-way, it focuses the subject. When it is pressed the full way, it snaps the pic. Simple.

So, you should be happy, that your camera is working fine.

Have fun, save your memories, and this camera will go a long way.

Gimme a thumbs up too please ;-)

Go to your settings when your in shooting-mode (Press the 'i' button on the bottom left).
There, change your focus mode from MF to AF-S or AF-C or AF-A.
Should work.
