get a new suction hose for the pump or fit a non-return flapper valve to the pump inlet pipe to stop the water draining out when not in use

Ryobi primer bulb wont prime

Sounds like the new bulb is not installed properly and is leaking air instead of creating a vacuum to draw the fuel into the primer before it pushes it out into the intake. OR it could be that the reed valve is not sealing, working properly and be sure it is closing and opening in the right sequence i.e. opening to allow fuel out when pushed and closing the inlet at that time and opening on the inlet and closing on the outlet side when released.

My pump is not primeing

most pumps that won't prime are not recieving a good seal on suction line (inlet) ck alll the fittings for good o-rings and ck filter lid as well , hairline cracks too can develop in hard plastic over time and rough treatment this can lead to loss of prime , one other reason and it's the most expensive reason is pump seal at drive end has went bad and sucking air if your handy with a wrench then you can source a new seal from jacuzzi if not replace entire pump (thats the expensive way)

Well pump losing prime

you might have a leak in the foot valve, you can try installing a check valve several inches before the intake to maintain a prime, or check and clean/replace the foot valve.

If the pump ran dry, check the inlet fitting. the pump can get hot and melt pvc piping connected to it, causing air to leak in the inlet side.,

Wont prime up

I have seen a couple of different things cause this... Are the fuel lines hooked up and not split and fuel filter routed right in tank.(hanging freely touching bottom of tank lying flat) next if your carb has adj. screws H &L I have seen when the H is cranked snug (lean) that primer won't work right. Last but not least your Needle inlet valve is stuck shut and or the fuel pump diaphram little tabs are not sealing off chambers in carb on fuel pump side. make sure your fuel lines are properly hooked up to the right spots. when you push primer bulb it should squirt gas into the fuel tank, then when you release it ,it should draw fuel from the tank through the filter and thru the carb and then out to tank.

I have a 2hp sprinkler pump that I am having trouble priming. I have 2 check valves on in the water by the intake and the other by the pump. It has take a few hours to get the water to the pump but still...

1. You only should have one check valve; the one in the water is best, remove the other if you can.
2. Make sure there are no leaks in any of the piping between the water and the pump inlet.
3. Take the pump apart, thoroughly clean the new seal, the two halves of the pump that go under the metal band, the inside of the metal band.
4. Lubricate the new seal, the outer sides of the pump halves where the metal band squeezes together, the inside of the metal band where it contacts the halves and even the screw on the tightening device using petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or equal. Make sure the pump literature does not recommend against whatever you use.
5. Reassemble.
6. Fill the pump with water, open the discharge on top of the pump if possible and prime.
Normally, a pump, even with a long run will prime in 5 minutes or less.

Write back.

My pressure washer will not pressurize (prime). What can I do to fix this?

If the washer will not pressurize, check the inlet where the water comes in. There is a screen inside to keep any debris from entering pump and damaging seals and pistons. If the screen is clean, the next step would be to disassemble the pump and check o-rings and seals. Any leaks within the pump will cause your issue as well. Last thing to check is the unloading valve. The unloading valve is the knob used to control pressure. There is a spring and check ball inside the valve which adjusts the pressure. Some valves are able to be pulled out and checked, others have to be replaced as an assembly.

The dishwasher leaks.

Check the following in the same order as i mentioned :-

Main tub seal

Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly. The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the: Lower rack Spray arm Spray arm support Wash/drain impellers Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal

Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve

The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary. The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Wagner Paint crew - No pressure

In order of likelyhood:

1. There is an inlet valve where the paint first enters from the hopper. With the machine off, you can poke your finger all the way down the hole. It's spring loaded and will depress abouta quarter inch. If the inlet valve is stuck no paint will pump in PRIME or SPRAY position.
2. In SPRAY position. Motor runs for a few seconds then turns off. This means the pump is working. When you pull the trigger, if you get poor pressure, the problem is in the gun. Unscrew the handle and remove the filter. Clean out everything you can, and replace filter if necessary. Also try turning the spray nozzle 180 degrees and spray to clear if necessary.

there are more things that can go wrong, but these are the most likely.
