Question about McCulloch 16 In 4.5 Hp Electric Chainsaw With Carrying Case MCC4516FK

By accident I used regular unleaded gas in my chain saw rather than the premixed 40-to-1 blend I have in another gas can? Th engine ran for a short time but stalled several times before I realized the error? what are the consequences? is draining the unleaded and replacing it with the proper mixture enough to correct the problem? or do you suggest something else?

Does the engine still turn over and appear to have compression? The piston and rings take the brunt of this error. Try your solution--but you need to get rid of ALL the straight gas. Remove the spark plug and squirt in some two-stroke oil. Then set the choke and pull the starter through with the ignition OFF a dozen or so times to pull mixed fuel into the carburetor. Open the choke and pull through a few more times. Replace the spark plug and see if it will start. If it does, run it slowly for awhile, then bring up the speed bit by bit. You MAY just luck out!

The oil mixed in the gas provides lubrication for the engine. Without it, it's like running a lawnmower with no oil till it quits. I would say it time for a new chainsaw.

Do I use premix or regular gas in my chainsaw

It's really dependent on the particular saw's requirements.

Old saws used to need a 25:1 fuel/oil ratio, and modern saws as little as 50:1. Somewhere in between these extremes is a safe bet. Use a little extra oil in the fuel for new saws in the "running-in" period or after a rebuild. If the spark plus fouls, then lean it off a little.

More important is to use good quality oil: name-brand products are usually safe, and usually recommend the appropriate ratio on the packaging.

Chain oil is another, different product that has a separate tank for lubing the chain, bar & sprocket. Usually at the front end of the saw, the tank requires refilling with chain & bar oil at the same time the premix tank is filled. It's usually a high-tack oil, with anti-throw properties for use on the high-speed chain. Name-brand products are recommended, with vegetable-based oils preferred to mineral-based for environmental pollution reasons.

What is the gas/2 cycle oil mixtuure for a husqvarna 55 chainsaw

These saws were normally ran on a slightly richer mix. The reason was becuase of the mix oil available. I would recommend running a 40:1 or 50:1 mix. Make sure you use an "FD" rated mix oil and Premium ethanol free fuel.
The premixed fuels / oils are even better. They contain the FD rated oil 95 octane fuel and no ethanol.

My 1998 Buick park avenue burns gas faster than it usually does. What should I do.

If you use ethanol blended gasoline this is normal. ethanol blended fuel doesn't burn as well as regular unleaded

if you use unleaded non-blended fuel
A good thorough tune up should remedy this.

change spark plugs and wires
air filter
fuel filter
engine and transmission oil and filters should do the trick

What is the gas/oil mixture for the poulan wild thing chain saw please?

Use a quality 2-cycle air-cooled engine oil. Poulan recommends a good quality 2-cycle air-cooled oil designed to be mixed at a ratio of 40:1 (A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 3.2 onces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline). When mixing fuel, follow the instructions printed on the container. Always read and follow the safety rules relating to fuel before fueling your unit.. Be Safe!

Always premix fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil in a separate can before use. Never run a 2-stroke saw engine without mixed fuel. Motorcycles use an oil injection pump that allows the burning of straight gasoline, but no one has come up with similar system for saws. Use 40:1 ratio fuel to oil. Hope this helps!

Gas ratio

Most saws built within the last 30 years or so can be run with 40:1 using modern synthetic saw oils. A number of late model units run 50:1. Make sure to premix the fuel and oil before adding to the saw. Hope this helps!

Chain saw emitted sparks and now does not start.

Hi

When the engine get warm and die(I suppose)check the spark at the sparkplug. You can let the saw run until it ran out of gas and you will not distroy the engine.Change the sparkplug.
