Red protection light blinks red then becomes colorless just was working yesterday

It means the its faulty and it has an intelligent fault detector that helps the equioment to protect on its own, a technician will help you diagnose the fault, check amp module(output ic/transistors)

The TV is in protection mode. There is some shorted component/s on its main board. Contact any experienced service technician.

Do any of the green led lights in the set come on?---red one should be on all the time--blinking would indicate a problem in the power supply at the primary side (INPUT).

How many times is the light blinking? Also is the light red, yellow or green? The light blinking is telling you exactly what has failed.
(# of RED blinks first)

1 High Pressure Protect
2 Indoor coil freeze protect
3 Low pressure protect

4 Compressor discharge protect

5 Low pressure/Overcurrent protect

6 Indoor-outdoor communication error
8 Hi-Temp protect
10 AC Voltage Low

Each of these has maintenance required steps to resolve the errror. Let me know how many blinks your getting...

green green is power on, normal
then it tries to light the lamp, but it can't so the protection circuit comes activated.
you get red and green blinking

Then it goes to standby, red and off.

so something has happened to the lamp, or lamp ballast power supply.
Take the lamp out and check if all is OK with the 2 terminals in the connector, and the leads to the lamp are intact.

Failing that, I would suspect the ballast lamp power unit

The red light on the front of the camcorder is supposed to blink when it is charging. That indicates that it is still charging, the light will stop blinking when it is fully charged. Other than that does it work fine?

This flash indicates a technical circuit error, an electrical fault inside the tv has developed...The tv is in protection mode to prevent the fault from becoming a larger problem. If its under warranty take it back, if not have your local repair shop service the tv.

check that your ground wire is connected properly to both your amp and body of vehcile you may need a thicker earth wire

Probably and overheating problem. Here's what I suggest:

Try using some compressed air and cleaning the vents out below. If that doesn't work then you'll have to remove and replace the thermal compound on the GPU and CPU.

You might also consider a System Restore if you can do it before it shuts off.

The TV is in protection mode. An internal problem was detected and the set shutdown to prevent further damage. If the set is only 9 months old, it should still be under warranty. Call and request warranty service.
