I'm a cb tech in Dodge City Alabama and it sounds to me like you may have blown your protection diode which is a pretty easy fix. Just make sure you put at least a 7 to 10 amp fuse inline once it is repaired. You can ask at about any CB shop for a D4 Cap replacement

SOURCE: I have a Galaxy DX 55v cb radio...The problem I am

sounds like somebody has tampered inside it , knocking out alignments. There is a resistor and very small transistor near back that controls transmit+receive. I don't know which number resistor it is on your model. I know where it is on Uniden/Cobra models(recommend Cobra 25ltd) Take to Cb shop or service repair place. They may help you. Just buy you a Cobra for cheaper and go with it.

SOURCE: Galaxy 95T

check SWR's check to make sure ALL coax connectors are tight. and if still doing it. may be loose connection in board. but the export style radios go crazy like that when coax is loose or have bad grounds. due to there floating ground circuit design. there not the same as a cobra were its case is ground.

My radio is a Galaxy DX 98. It squeals when I key up

change "MIC" to a factory,or turn back Mic gain. Mic can short out or may have too much gain(power mics). Use standard dead Mic that was designed for radio. If that does not help,it may be inside radio, wires on MIC connectors need soldered again(make sure they don't touch th eothers.

My galaxy dx 66v when i turn it on it stays keyed all the time even without mic pluged in..........and when i turn my talkback switch on all it does is squeal.need help

make sure the mic connector board is not touching anything inside. if it is not.. below it is a diode for the TX/RX.. replace it with 2 914 diodes and should work again.. 99% of the time..

Put another **** on 29 ltd and lost key up and receive but it still lights up. What you thank is wrong. 5 different mics, all work in my other radios. I heard something chatter and it would not tx or rx...

Check to make sure that there is noting shorting out inside of the radio. some mic plugs can turn from overtighting the mic connector.. also check the pins they may be broke or compressed too much and won't make connection to any mic.. Pin 1 is ground and pin 4 is rx.. take a jumper wire across those and see if you get rx back. same for tx pin 3.. jumper pin 1 and 3 should have a key up. pin 2 is your of course audio. these should be first things to check. cobras unidens and galaxys, connex, genlee etc. are wired the same. midlands and radioshacks ge are different. so make sure your mic is wired for a cobra or galaxy also.. any mic will work on any radio. as long as is it wired to it correctly....

Radio stuck in transmit meter needle is slammed all the way to the right as soon as you turn unit on

Have you recently changed mics ? if so it is wired wrong, if not I would check for a shorted wire in the mic connector or the mic itself.

Fuse blows when I key the microphone. Why does this happen?

i am pretty sure something came loose or a connection went bad, now something is shorting, possibly to the chassis. if you think you know how to open it up and work on it than do it. Or take it to a tech and have them look at it. it should be a real quick, real simple fix.
