SOURCE: Karcher G 3000 BH Engine Pumping Problem

This may not be a motor problem. It sounds like your pump is not working properly and the motor is just following the pump. First thing to do is check for leaks in the pump, wand hose, gun etc. It may also be a blown water seal inside the pump.

SOURCE: New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

Pull rope on troybuilt pw wont pull out or pulls hard when trying to start it, i pulled plug and it pulls fine, put it back in and it pulls hard again if at all, can you help me out?

On some pressure washers the engine will be hard to pull start if there is pressure in the hose. Release the pressure in the hose by squeezing the wand trigger, then try starting the engine. Also If you had it running and then stopped it, you need to release the hose pressure again to have an easy time of pull starting it. This is what I have to do with mine once the pump is primed and before starting it up. I hope it's as simple as this. If not it could be an engine problem of some sort.

Hope this helps. :)

After starting, why did it run for 45 seconds then bogged down and stopped?

Your problem is your carburetor. You will have to remove the carburetor and service it.

Go on you tube .com search " how to clean a 4 cycle carburetor"

Once you do this your unit should start fine.

Always depress the lever on the wand whengine starting a pressure washer... then pull the rope... makes life a ton easier

Why can't I start my power washer?

Let's start with the basics . . . if it has one, make sure the fuel petcock (shutoff) is on. Is there a choke lever? If yes, try choking it for 2 pulls, then open it and retry a few pulls.
Is there a primer button? If yes, press it 2 or 3 times and retry starting.
Remove the spark plug and see if its wet or dry.
Dry means no fuel thru the carb.
If dry, the float/needle is most likely stuck OR possibly the jets are blocked with corrosion. Both of these usually occur after a long storage period, but could happen sooner. The carburetor will need to be disassembled to be cleaned.
Wet means it's flooded OR no spark.
If plug is wet, check for spark at the plug by holding the base against the crankcase and having someone pull the rope gently to spin the engine thru steadily. No need to spin it at 3000 rpm without the plug in it. Be careful, as sometimes the spark will ignite the fumes from the engine as it turns over and can create a blast directly toward you. If there is a strong spark, pull the rope a few times to "clean out" the excess gas from the combustion chamber, reinstall the plug and pull the rope again to try starting it.
If NO SPARK, the coil could be bad and in need of replacement, but this is highly unlikely.
If none of these cure the ill, I recommend finding a service agent for the unit.

I bought a new craftsman pressure washer 2700psi. Put oil and gas in it. Cranked on the first try. It worked for about 15 minutes and then cut off. Now the pull start is very hard to pull and will not...

Hello
Take out the spark plug and try pulling,if it is still hard then then there is a problem with the pull start mechanism.
Check the plug for oil fouling or fresh oil.If there is excessive oil you may have bad rings.

If in doubt, craftsman will honor the 1 year warranty no questions asked, for a new unit.

Motorturns over hard with pullstarter on my gx340 pressurewasher

You have a nice setup, lots of power. The honda gx340 has a compression release built into the engine so it should be relatively easy to start. With the pressure pump under load however, it will be very hard to pull the rope. With water connected hold spray gun open so water is running out tip and pull rope to start (for easy start, remove tip from gun) . If it still feels very hard to pull rope while holding gun open, most likely problem with lubrication in pump or engine valves are not adjusted correctly preventing compression release. If you suspect problem, go to store where you purchased the unit or any store that sells gx340 and pull the rope to get a feel of what force is required to start engine and compare to yours. Good luck.

I change oil on my 3700 psi honda motor pressure washer motor and pump and after i done that the tigger rope is to hard to pull looks like some who is pressure some where can some one help me whit this...

Most likely has nothing to do with oil change. Have someone hold the trigger on handle open to relieve pressure on system/pump , this will make engine turn easier when you pull rope.

I tried to start the pressure washer by lulling the cord, there was sharp popping noise, and the engine would not crank to start. It is a Honda K. washer. What went wrong? Pls advise, thanks.

Make sure your oil level is correct and not overfull. If ok, pull the sparkplug out. Then, pull the starter rope to see if the engine spins freely. If it does, pull it 4-5 more times to clear the cylinder of oil or gas. Put the plug back in and try it again.
However, if the rope fails to pull freely, you either have a locked engine or pump. You will have to seperate the pump from the engine to determine which is locked up.
