No video playback blank screen on my Panasonic NV-GS50

Possible that the video head is dirty and so there is DROP OUT factor as no signal is picked up from the head . The head can be clogged due to fungus from old tapes or from ferrite dust.
Use a good head spray to clean , also use a good head cleaning tape so that the head cleans and it is able to pick up the signals from the tape.
Finally in some cases the dirt can be so strong that you will need to manually clean the head.

No image on lcd for Panasonic nv-gs50 camcoder

It was my question and I have found an answer. The problem was,due to faulty main PCB,which did not supply power to LCD backlight. I was lucky enough to find same faulty model on eBay,sold for spares (around $15 for the lot).I have also purchased a service manual for $10,just to see,how to disassemble a unit. It was pretty easy, not a rocket science.Any new replacement part usually very expensive, not saing about repair in repair shop. Will cost fortune. My advice: try to find similar not working unit on ebay, just figure out what was wrong,as there is no point to get unit with the same fault. The camera I have bought for parts had a mechanical problem, chewing tape.
