You need to reset the the wireless router and the modem, to do this just pull the power from the back of them for 2 minutes, don't power them off from the wall.
After the 2 minutes is up plug the power back in and wait for another 2 minutes for them go through the boot procedure. After that try to connect again.
If it still doesn't connect post back.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Some Internet connections need to bee activated if you chance the computer. You can still download the updates of windows if you have this on automatic, but you cannot go on the internet. Another possibility is that you nee to configure your internet connection (many times with a name and code), you can get this from your internet provider.
Yes It is looking like you have connection but you cannot go to your startpage.
Another possibility is that you have a router and you need to configure that. Look on the manual of the router for this
Hope that helps

Firstly, disconnect your PC from the Internet AND shut the PC down.
This is incase it has a virus that is causing the problem.
Using another computer download SpyBot Search and Destroy from the Internet.
To do this you will need a USB Stick and another computer with an internet connection.
1. Navigate to SpyBot.com.
2. Pick your Language.
3. Click the SpyBot Search and Destroy link under the heading Products.
4. Click the Download icon adjacent to the SpyBot Search and Destroy application.
5. Select the destination to save the Application to. This will be the name of your USB stick.
6. Then click the Download icon adjacent to the Detection Updates and save them also to the USB stick.
Whilst you are on SpyBot's website, navigate around the site and see how to use the software.
Essentially, when the virus is particularly malicious you need to run an application that can detect the virus, and the PC should not be connected to the internet. You will also need to run the PC in SAFE Mode.
Consult with your PC's website (ACER, DELL, HP etc...) to find out what button to press to put it into SAFE Mode as you power on the PC. Some PC's it is F8.
You will need to turn on the PC and then press the appropriate button. Select the option to start the PC in SAFE Mode.
When started up connect the USB Stick.
Navigate to the USB Stick and Run the SpyBot Application from the Stick.
NOTE this will take some time to do depending on the amount of programs and files on your PC.
If SpyBot finds Malware etc.., get rid of it.
Note: When your PC is free of viruses then you can copy the SpyBot application to your PC along with the Detection Files. Then you can open SpyBot and set it up for Auto Scanning. Then, you can re-connect to the Internet.
I hope this helps. Regards,
