Why does my computer say the door is open on my printer when it is not

Sometimes Door open error shows in printer even if it is closed .

Follow This steps to Fix Open Door Error Message:-

*Close the cartridge access door completely.
*Check the cartridge door for obstruction.
*Reset the Printer
*Restart the Print Spool Device.
*Restart the computer.Restart the Printer.And If you are using Brother Printer And You Encounter With Brother Printer In Error State Windows 10 Issue then Read The Blog I Am Mentioning above.

try to uninstall and reinstall the program files see if that fixes it

Open "Devices and Printers" in start menu.
Right click printer with green arrow - click see whats printing.
Delete all documents.
Restart computer - then restart printer
See if that clears your error messages.

Uninstall then re-install the printer?

Access door is usually the one that opens to allow the insertion of new cartridges. Try opening and closing that one and restarting the device after completely unplugging from the mains and waiting 30 secs.

Try restarting computer, I helped a friend with this issue and she is printing now.

I helped a friend with this, I just had her to restart her computer and she is now printing.

when printer door open then printer carrage is unlock position? if you are right so your cartridge is ok other wise you change cartridge
or properly lock

aah simple solution to that modiboni. you need to check if the printer door is still open but youv already tried that im sureoption 2 im not to sure on your printer but when you open the door chek to see o protruding plastic that will activate a switch to say the door is closed if you see that the plastic is broken use a small item to push down the sensor and it hopefully should read that the printer door is closed.

I have that exact problem at work. There is a bump on the right side of the lid...and when you close the lid it presses on a lever. Check and see that the bump actually pushes that lever downwards. That's how the printer determines that it's closed.
