My lan card automatically disables and enables and is connects at 10 Mbps rather 100 Mbps

Please check specifications of the network hub you are using. If this is only 10mbps, then your D600 will also connect at the same speed. If your hub is already 100mbps, and considering that if automatically disables and enables, then the network adapter of you laptop is probably defective. Try updating the firmware of the unit and also the device drivers, this may also possibly correct the problem. You may also want to consider buying a USB network card or just replacing the laptop if the above does not work.

I can only connect one laptop to the internet. When i turn on the second one it makes the first laptop loose its connection with the internet. My service provider says its the router. Can u help?

Hi! I think you have an IP conflict on your laptops. Do this: goto control panel and open the network section and put a fixed IP address for both the laptops, lats say: LapTop1: IP: 192.168.0.10 LapTop2: IP: 192.168.0.20
And put a DNS number in the same section where you put the IP numbers. The DNS number is the IP number of your router. WARNING! your router IP address must be in the same region as your laptops. Lats say Router IP: 192.168.0.1 than your DNS address on your laptops are 192.168.0.1.
Check in the router of some security restriction like how many users can be connected through WiFi connection, check for firewall enabled or disabled, if enabled try disable it and try to connect now.
I hope this solution will help to solve your problem.

My laptop cannot connect to dir-300 wireless g router but my other desktop computer can connect through lan card, its operating system is vista while my laptop is xp

It does sound like you may need to upgrade firmware. DLink is still in the process of updating Vista firmware so be sure you get the right file!. Anyway here is the URL you need:

You might like to try:

1. Disable Windows Firewall

2. In Internet Options Control Panel go to the connection tab and then the LAN Settings where you can uncheck the "Automatically detect settings" button.

3. If you have any third party software, I would get rid of this and ensure that the"Windows Zero Configuration" in the Services menu is set to "Automatic" and the status is started.

Interestingly, Anti Virus programs sometimes interfere with wireless set up - you could see if it helps by disabling it whilst configuring your wireless. It might also be worth trying to connect without any encryption code & see if that will connect - you can then sort out the encryption.
You might find this site of some use

Windows XP home edition service pack 3

OK, do you wish to install further updates? if you dont, then what you can do is disable automatic updates

To do this, then right click on the desktop the icon My pc and select properties. The sub menu Automatic Updates you will find on the top, click that and check the box disable automatic updates

Some Automatic updates are dangerous and can cause your computer to stop working correctly. I would recommend you disable them. Once this is disabled, restart your computer and the access denied messages will disappear. This is because its most likely you have automatic updates set to download and install automatically. But once you disable this, problem should be solved.

If you have any more questions, please let me know
