SOURCE: table saw moter burnt out.
Sears carries a good selection of capacitor-start replacement motors that should fit your saw. Most of these motors can easily be converted to 230 volt operation which is a recommended procedure (almost instant starting!). Don't try to have the original motor rewound as it would cost several times the replacement cost. That service is only used for very expensive high-horsepower 3-phase motors as a rule. Hope this helps!

Testimonial: "yes great at least i won't waste time & money on a rewind."
You can change the brushes easy enough but I don't think that is the problem. The brushes are a standard size, can be bought at any hardware store. Just pull the caps off and remove the brush, slide in the new one, all set. But,,, I have a feeling the motor went kapooie, The brushes usually don't smoke, but a burned out field or armature will. Check the motor to make sure it spins free with the belt off, or the blade off if it is direct drive, then do the brush change, if that doesn't do it, you will have to take out the armature and have it checked for ground, and then check for loose wires, burned rotor, and if that checks out then the field is shot. One of the 3. But it could be a bearing. Hope this helps.

Jim, you need the starter/run capacitor assembly.
