Why is my kodakhero 7.1 working as it should but then the paper comes out with no ink on it?

The printer is making all the noises that it normally does but when the paper is pushed out of the printer there is no ink on it and the page is blank.

SOURCE: kodak 5100 will not print consistently

I am currently having the same problem with a 17" iMac Intel Core Duo.  The printer worked fine for a few months, now it will only print in black and white and sometimes in color that is extremely faded.  I have tried every troubleshooting tip in the book and still no luck.

SOURCE: Printer won't print.

sounds to me like perhaps the printer drivers are really unhappy. you'll need new ones from www.kodak.com

SOURCE: My printer is only printer blank pages? When it

Check the ink cartridges for ink level - it might just be empty. If you've replaced them with new cartridges already, clean the print heads with a "Q" tip and alcohol and run the "clean-cartridge" function in the printers properties.

SOURCE: I just replaced both ink

You need a new Print Head:
Clean the printhead, then print a test page.

  1. On the control panel, press and hold Cancel + Copy/Resume simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes. The On/Off light continues to flash during the cleaning procedure.
  2. When the On/Off light glows steady, press and hold Quantity + Cancel simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes, then wait for the test page to print.
  3. Review the printed test page and verify that:
    • the left color blocks are gray, cyan, and black.
    • the right color blocks are magenta, yellow, and black.
    • each block is completely filled with color.
    • Is the test page blank?

SOURCE: paper feeds through the printer but nothing

the problem will be on the cartridge reader. you should see if the ink disposal system is running as fluid as possible.
Check on the driver also, uninstall then reinstall it back.

Try those solution:

- Clean the head within the printer maintenance mode.

- If you filled the cartridges by yourself, make sure that you empty the cartridges of air after filling it with ink!

Making noise like its printing but nothing comes onto the paper

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Ink cartridges will not slide due to leaking ink underthe printer

Sorry to hear about the mess. Let's start with the clean up of the ink. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to wipe up the ink that has spilled out of the cartridge. Wipe gently so you don't do any damage to the internal components of your printer. The ink will likely color the inside of your printer - That's okay. Just make sure you get anything that puddles. It should not look wet.

On to the non-moving cartridge carrier. The standard fix for this is to do a hard reset on the printer. Follow these steps.

1. Unplug the power cord and remove the paper from the paper tray.
2. Move the carriage all the way to the right, close the lid and reconnect the power cord.
3. The printer will make some noise as it starts back up. Wait until it stops making noise.
4. Open the printer lid. The carriage should return to its normal position.
5. Try printing again.

If this does not work, then damage has been done to the internal components. You will need to get the printer serviced by a repair person.

Noise when beginning to print or copy

Mine always makes noise too, I don't know why. But I know that it's a lot noisier when paper quality is set for draft, so you might want to check that.
If you just go into the printer properties, under the tab that's something like Paper/Quality. There will be a drop-down list where you can choose the quality of your print out, i.e. Best, Normal, Draft or FastDraft. If it's set for Draft, you might want to change it to Normal. Draft uses less ink, but it also doesn't come out quite as clear, and is very loud.

Epson Stylus Photo 1270. All lights flashing. Whats wrong and how can I fix it?

Hi Guys
I had the same problem with all lights flashing nothing working, happened after a panic power shut down. As with peter after the paper button was released, printer lit up like a christmas tree again. I played around with the button combinations and found that holding down the ink button instead of the flashing paper button cleared the problem. Great tip guys saved me a lot of money. cheers me dears clive.

Printer makes all appropriate noises and motions, but does not print on page

what is the make / model of the printer ?
also, remove cartridges and blot them on a folded paper towel. If they have ink, you will see ink dots on paper tower, otherwise they may be empty.
