Question about Garden
I have a murray riding mower, 10hp, 30'' cut. I was mowing my lawn when all of a suddent the mower would hardly move. I turned it off and when I started it again it would not move forward or backward. It appears to be locked up. Could this be a transmission problem or some type of brake locking up?

Check the tractor's prime mover belt. This belt has no adjustment linkage. This belt stretches over time,to the point that it slips causing the tractor not to move in any direction. This belt is a long belt it goes from the upper pulley on the motor, all the way back to the Transaxle. If the belt is loose or broken, replace with a new belt and install as directed by the decal underneath the left foot rest. You can purchase this belt at SearsPartsDirect.com..Give them your Tractor's Model # and they will look up the part for you. If you don't want to use Sears, there are a lot of lawn mower parts online.
