If the large black line is on the back of the page, it is because too much ink is built up under the transport and transferring to the exit rollers. There is a mylar shield needed under the transport after cleaning the rollers to keep the ink from coming up again. Usually a shop repair, around $89.00

HP 9500 mfp: All pages aren't being stapled and it's printing a perfect black line about 2/3 down the page of all documents fed through the ADF.

Black line.....there are 2 smaller rectangular glasses that the pages are scanned through. When you lift the ADF you will see one of them next to the large glass platen, the other is on the underside of the ADF. Clean these with a wetwipe or alcohol.
The pages not being stapled, on the exit tray where the pages come out after being stapled there is a set of black rollers near there that get dirty and will not feed them into the stapler easily, you can clean these with WD40

Pages sticking to fuserwhen leading ege has wide

Replace the fuser, its overheating and that would cause the pages to stick the way they have been when trying to print pages of lots of black solid ink.

Black Lines running down the right side outside of the print area

It may be the fuser. Take it out and inspect the roller on it:

  1. Switch off the device, disconnect the mains plug and wait for 30 minutes before continuing.
  2. Ensure that the bypass tray is closed, or you will not be able to open the front cover.
  3. Open the front cover by pressing the release buttons as shown.
  4. Pull the front cover down towards you.
  5. Disconnect the green plug - squeeze the sides of the plug and pull.
  6. Push the left and right levers outward to unlock the unit.
  7. Pull the unit towards you as shown and lift it clear of the device.
  8. Check the roller for wear marks, If so replace it.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Black line

Is the paper you are using a bond paper and a little heavy. The line is most likely comming from the fusing ass'y. Are you running it LTR size? Try runing it LTR-R size. It will not put as much fores on the fuser and it will run a little slower. Also try the by-pass. Or try to run some Blank White pages though it to clean the fusing ass'y. You also may need to rebiuld or replace the fusing ass'y.

Black line down the page

Is the line on the front of the page or on the back? If on the back, you need to clean the platten which is the piece of plastic under the paper.

If its on the front, and you say "It lools like a rubber cover may be missing off of one of the rollers", could you upload a picture of this roller? I don't recall any covers on rollers in Canon printers.

Try this, print out a blank page. If line is still there, print out 10 blank pages. If line is still there and has not faded, this is unusual and may need servicing. There may be a problem with the encoder strip (it's a clear plastic strip with black lines running the length of the printer slightly behind the head), Try cleaning it on both sides with a little windex on a q-tip. It's delicate so be careful.

If the line looks faded after printing 10 blank pages, some ink has dripped onto something that is contacting the paper. This could be a roller, the bottom of the head carriage or even a hair or piece if dust that is stuck in the machine or on the bottom of the head. In this case, I would recommend cleaning everything. Revove the head (tell the machine you're going to replace ink, and when it moves the head into the centre position unplug the power cord.

Remove the head and clean off any dust or hairs on the bottom. Run a Q-Tip along the bottom of the carriage assembly wherever you can. Clean any accessable rollers. If you can get at it, clean the wiper on the purge unit (the unit the head sits over when it is parked), as well as the seals.

Reinstall the head and ink, close the lid, power up and retry printing.

I hope this helps. If not, there could actually be a fault with the printhead or one of the circuit boards

Scanner HP 6200

Not the scanner -unless you have allowed the page framing to slip- check that out More likely the printer- and an indicator that the waste ink tank is over full and needs servicing. Goto www.fixyourownprinter- and log into your model to see how to do it.
