Tx29u manual outside temp, not working

Question edited for clarity. Full 'make model (what it is)'.

Did you put batteries in both units and in the right order, sensor first?

Step 1: Insert 2 fresh AA, batteries into the TX29U-IT sensor according to the polarity marked in the battery compartment.

Step 2: Insert 2 fresh AAA, Alkaline batteries into the wireless thermometer according to the polarity markings. Step 3: After 5 minutes place sensor outside in a shaded location.

I believe that would fall under Temp Units during setup.

my unit tells me to insert fresh batteries into the outside sending unit first. then insert new batteries into the inside receiving unit. after the outside temperature shows up, then can reset my inside unit's time, choose F or C and
switch channels. please try changing channels if your
outside temp doesn't show. you can do both units in the house then put one outside after they work properly.

Here's the manual for the AcuRite Weather Forecaster. If it's not showing the outside temperature, make sure the A-B-C switch is set to match the display unit. i may be wrong but that sensor is for the ac not for engine operation and at 113 if its not that hot then the sensor is bad but if its summer its ok,, your engine works with intake air temp

If it is a gear looking symbol (in the owners manual it is called a snowflake), it comes on when the outside temp is between 31-36 degrees F.

Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.

You can buy a replacement ambient air temp sensor at an auto parts store for about $10. Its as simple to change as a light bulb and can be found behind your front bumper at the base of the radiator.
