Remove side cover, than remove bolt holding coil cover on. The coil is held on by two small bolts.

I have the older model which has the 3 bolt ignition coil. If I replace the coil, does the new ignition coil have to be 3 bolt as well? the 3 bolt replacement coils are so much more expensive

Coils are usually engine specific, the number of bolts does not determine whether or not it will work. If you really want your chainsaw to work correctly - buy the right part. It's a cheaper than a new one! Using the model number you supplied, I found them for under $50, which is about the value of an old 050 Stihl -wow, that's a heavy old saw. If you are still (Stihl ;^ )) not sure, call a Stihl repair facility. There may be an old timer mechanic who knows.

HOME LITE SUPER CL AUTO will not start no spark when cold sometimes if I heat up coil it will start sometimes.

I have the same problem with one of mine so I purchased a old one at a garage sale and replaced my coil. The only solution that I can think is to replace the coil.A new coil is not very expensive.I would check around online at different part suppliers for the best deal.Should be around 17 to 25 dollars. This is the only brand of chainsaw that I have had this problem with.

My Husquvarna Model 61 coils are not working I need a new coil where will i get an old chainsaw for spare parts for my machine now? I am in Sydney, Australia

check and search on E Bay mate, search for "Chainsawa' and "husquvarna", you should be able to pick up something cheap, also the coil from other Husquvarna models may fit, example, a 36 model coil, may fit a 61. A new coil is available from any mower and chainsaw shop, cost about $80.
