I need a list of acidic foods and a list of alkaline foods

Hi Samuel,

Here is a free printable food chart of acidic and alkaline foods courtesy of Greenopedia.com http://greenopedia.com/wp-content/uploads/Alkaline-Acid-Food-Chart-Printable.pdf

Please keep in mind:
Some foods can be listed on the acidic or alkaline side depending on the source. Some of these food items are tomatoes, soy products, nuts & seeds, or fermented items such as sauerkraut.
Not all foods are what they seem either. Citrus would obviously be on the acidic side, right? Not true! Limes, oranges, and grapefruit are actually alkaline forming fruits!
Artificial sweeteners, alcohol, and highly processed foods are highly acidic forming that offer little or no nutritional value. These foods should be avoided or eaten very sparsely.
Not all acidic foods are unhealthy and often offer other nutritional benefits so make sure you don't avoid everything acidic and maintain a balanced diet.

True or false? Only antibacterial soap should be used when washing your hands

Antibacterial soap should only be used when preparing foods for cooking and more so for ready to eat foods that do not have heat treatment.

For normal tasks, normal hand washing with any soap is fine. In fact, good hand washing techniques with water over 110'F makes antibacterial soap unnecessary.

Just received a model 1898 springfield armory bolt action serial number 465014 what can you tell me about it

It's probably what we know as a Krag. It's probably marked .30USG which is now known as the 30-40 Krag. It was the US service rifle during the Spanish American war and was replaced by the 1903 Springfield. It has an off magazine box on the right side that allows it to be loaded while the bolt is closed.

Is it true that prepared foods are full of unhealthy msg?

Msg (Monosodium glutamate) is the sodium salt of glutamic acid and is commonly used to enhance flavor.
Msg is often used in prepared foods to avoid the use of high amounts of salt in order to cover bad taste. Therefore, its presence in prepared foods is not what makes them unhealthy. The biggest problems with prepared foods are high levels of fats and salt rather than msg.

What is vaccum packing?

Vacuum packing is a method of storing food and presenting it for sale. Appropriate types of food are stored in an airless environment, usually in an air-tight pack or bottle to prevent the growth of microorganisms. The vacuum environment removes atmospheric oxygen, protecting the food from spoiling by limiting the growth of aerobic bacteria or fungi, and preventing the evaporation of volatile components. Vacuum packing is commonly used for long-term storage of dry foods such as cereals, nuts, cured meats, cheese, smoked fish, coffee, and crisps and also for shorter-term storage of fresh foods such as vegetables, meats, and liquids such as soups.
Vacuum packing is also used to reduce greatly the bulk of non-food items. For example, clothing and bedding can be stored in bags evacuated with a domestic vacuum cleaner or a dedicated vacuum sealer. This technique is sometimes used to compact household waste, for example where a charge is made for each full bag collected.
