I have a buzzing sound in the engine. It goes away when I give the car gas. It comes back whenever the gas pedal is depressed. The buzzing also sounds different depending on the level the A/C is set on.

The sound you hear, is it a whining, popping, grinding, scraping or rattling sound?

with engine running?? assuming noise is under hood here is one possible cause. sometimes pcv valve will make a buzzing noise as the little ball in there flaps around when spring gets weak. locate your pcv valve and feel it if this is noise you will feel the hose vibrating and if so replace valve
We've have the same problem with ours. We found the fuel canister needed replaces. It's mounted near the back bumper with straps. The part cost us about 125 bucks and was pretty easy to replace. The trick is to get the bolts out without snapping them.
