Vertical lines on preview and scan

Three vertical (pale green) lines have appeared on my scanning preview, which then come out on the scan itself. This happened once before, (months ago) lasted a day and then disappeared. Now it's been like it for several days. How do I get rid of them?

Vertical line appears on the faxed page sent to

This sounds like a dirty scanning glass in the adf feeder. clean the glass with a soft cloth. if this doesn't solve the problem, there might be dirty optics under the scanning glass.

Scanner leaves three vertical lines on scanned page

A dirty glass base can cause ‘spots’ or blemishes to appear on your final printout. Additionally, if you had some sort of opaque liquid that may have transferred on to the glass base from a previous operation. But the majority of the unwanted vertical lines are generally caused by either a dirty or damaged print roller or faulty LEDs in the Scanner Module.

To separate one from the other you have to check the following:

Do you only see the lines with a Scan operation?
Do your print jobs print fine without any unwanted lines?

If you only see the unwanted lines during a Scan operation, then most likely you have a fault/dirty/obstructed LED module.

If you see the unwanted lines with all print operations (Scan, Print and Copy), then you most likely have a worn out, damaged or dirty Print Roller.

Hope this helps…

Two black vertical lines appear on copy, pdf, and scan results

  1. Unplug the power cord and the phone line from the wall.
  2. Open the control panel.
  3. Pull the roller lever forward, and then lift the white roller out of the All-In-One.
  4. Note: The scan lens is located under the white roller.
  5. Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water to wipe the white roller and the scan lens.
  6. Reinstall the white roller.
  7. Reconnect the power cord and the phone line.
  8. And then try to copy if get the dame line then its the hardware problem in the printer you must need to replace the scanner unit in the printer ..
Good luck..

On an HP 3050, a vertical line appears on the left side of the scanned document when using the software proviced with the machine. How can this line be eliminated?

Try cleaning the glass strip to the left of the larger piece of glass. A tiny spec of dirt will cause a long vertical line when scanned through the feeder.

Thick verticle line on copies and scans

Sounds like the issue is with the scanner bulb. May not be moving across or warming up to full capacity.

Make sure the scanner is plugged in directly to the wall and not into a surge protector or a power strip. If problem is still there and you are in warranty you will need to replace the unit. If OOW then you should call and see if you can repair or upgrade the unit at a discounted price. If you want to speak to someone in English tell them you want mac support - they are in Canada.

Vertical lines in scanned documents

Scan glass has muck on it, needs to be perfectly clear, it is just in where you feed originals.
